Anyone else excited about S6 but hesitant about the new Masteries?

There's something about the concentrated pigeon-holing of the whole "Have one but suffer not having the other" that I'm not a huge fan of. I like the freedom that the page now offers to mess around and fine tune to you. What's the consensus?

New masteries are one of the best parts of S6.

Almost everything Riot is doing is very good and clearly well thought out... except Dynamic Queue, fuck Dynamic Queue replacing solo queue.

The masteries themselves aren't the issue, I agree with a lot of them sounding great! It's more the restrictiveness of the tree itself that I have a gripe with. At least the ability to 5<<<<<>>>>>5 on a tier would be nice.

As I understand it, each tier was mean to have very clear opportunity costs. Opportunity cost is sorta the name of the game with the new Masteries.

Exactly this.

Putting this tiered system into the masteries and thus allowing for opportunity costs allowed Riot to move the offensive sustain back into the offensive tree - where it used to be in S2, but was moved out of due to the resulting no-brainer choice of taking Lifesteal on any 21/X/X build.

I also like that the keystones now really affect what and how you play, instead of just being the strongest effect in the tree. This always irked me with the old mastery trees, in the fact that you basically had to go 21 into one of the trees just to get a numerically strong bonus.

The only thing I'm really excited about is Yasuo becoming 100% ban and group ranked. Other then that, everything is either not that exciting (masteries) or just disappointing (mana pots, Zhonya's over nerf, reworking Bruiser items to suck on bruisers and be good on ADCs, as much as I like Dynaic Que, it probably shouldn't have completely replaced Solo Que.)

Jungle is going to be hard to predict until we actually see it in action. Still disappointed by the lack of a mage Jungle item.

I mean, im fine! Those level 17 players, though... are not going to be happy....
