pick Cass, Swain or Lucian top

ranged so her engaging is harder, multi hit or DoT spells make landing E worthless and Lucian can dodge it freely anyway (and still wins even if he doesn't)

Miasma disables her W so even if you get hit by test of spirit you can negate her ability to capitalize on it

Double tap makes it easy to clear nests and minimize spirit damage

Swain is swain

there you go, 3 hard counters to an already counterplayable champion. go out and ruin some lives

And that's why she needs some work. When she gets countered, she gets countered HARD. You might say that none of them are common toplane picks, but Illaoi is a teamfight/splitpush champion, she's bound to run into them eventually in a game. It's all an issue about the mechanics of her abilities too. They all have some weird conditions that make certain champs exploit them. Knockups cancel w, dot cancels e, mobility easily avoids tent damage, AA resets and double hits clear tents faster than they can spawn, grievous wounds and executes nullifiy her sustain. Most champs are vulnerable to one or two of these, but Illaoi has so many weaknesses based on champion kits that when she's not countered, she's a beast.

i agree that illaoi has too many counters. she hard counters nobody but gets absolutely dumpstered by a handful of mechanics

It's not that I can't play against her; I just really freaking hate doing it. I understand what to do, but even if I win I would rather put a toothpick under my toe and kick a door than lane against illaoi for 20 minutes. That's why I pick her instead.

you aren't, illaoi is the second most counterplayable champion in the game next to Sion. maybe even more so

i'm just giving you the easy way out because she has numerous hard counters while not hard countering anyone herself

counter playable, meaning that counterplay is abundant. which is inherently true by nature of being extremely telegraphed.

and yes, she is very easy to play against and very easy to counter, with both champions and items.

I'd say more so, Sion has the liberty of pointblanking an ult or ulting at someone who's been Q'd.

Quinn/Graves can botch up her ult pretty hard.

item 3123 makes her useless if you're AD, which is just stupid. You buy it, and she can't kill you even IF she lands her E + R (more like she won't live long enough to kill you)
