If Sona is held back because she is easy...why not just make her harder?

Seriously, I have wondered this since her rework, you had the chance to make her a little more difficult within that rework, and from the feedback what was given I can't understand why you didn't, specially as it seems pretty much every rework has made champions more deeper (Garen, Darius, Viegar, Skarner ect) You went ahead and made Soraka harder to play, but left Sona with her low skillcap and unsatisfying kit...I don't get it Sona is hammered as a damn tutorial support champion yet costs 3150 IP

A more difficult Sona would be a nice change, specially for those who have played her since her release in early season 1

Making her Q not auto target is something I've thought needed to be changed and I still do.

Well it pretty much deals no damage now anyway, I also wonder why this seems to be her most complained about part of her kit

40-200 damage is one of the lowest damage ranges in the games when you don't include skills that have a lower then a 2 second cooldown

It fixes part of the issue Riot has with her.

It does damage when you consider her passive and other parts of her Q into it.

But the auto target stuff needs to get the Ryze treatment. That would fix the damage part people hate about it.

I don't mind auto targetting or low skill cap champs, but if Sona being way too easy is an issue or too reliable then adding a higher skill cap would kit that.

She needs her numbers looked at in general, auto AoE E is fine if that got changed.

W heal + Shield is fine if numbers are tuned properly.

Q is the part that I honestly think she needs fixing so she doesn't turn oppressive when her poke is too strong. They fixed the hidden power of her aura's already, but doing Q changes would help a lot with balance issues.

Still a support Sona main here, and I do think people overplay the hate on how bad she is wwwwaaayyyy too much. But this is a change I would honestly push super hard for with asking.

You don't need to take away her simplicity, I love Garen after all, but no need to keep it if that is unhealthy.

Well, as far as Sona being weak goes, there's the possibility to use the new Masteries to crank up her W to more decent levels. 15% damage reduction on all allies tagged for the shield? That's pretty nice when used in a clutch.

Resolve Tier 3 -Runic Armor: +1.6%/3.2%/4.8%/6.4%/8% bonus to all shields and healing on you (includes lifesteal and regeneration). Perhaps more for Midlane Sona as it's a self-bonus only.

Cunning Tier 6 -Windspeaker's Blessing: Your heals and shields are 10% stronger. Additionally, your shields and heals increase your target's resistances by 15% for 3 seconds when used on an ally other than yourself. Definitely Support Sona, perhaps Midlane as well, depending on whether the player plans to smack some asses or is meant to the team as more of a sustain carry.

It's possible to get both, but that does sacrifice the more damaging Masteries of the Ferocity tree.
