How do you play adc and not suck at the game.

So I thought I'd challenge myself and play some adc. On the one hand, it's great to learn new stuff, getting the basics of attack moving down was fun for example. On the other hand, since up to this point I barely even played ranged champions to begin with, I fucking suck at it and there isn't a single game where I don't feel like a steaming pile of shit.

Like every time I'm in lane and I wanna farm I just get outpoked by the enemy and outclassed at every turn. Every team fight there are so many assassin and diver players intent on murdering my ass that I'm too afraid to even go in auto attack range. Every second playing as adc is stressful, it's like being a prey animal that has to be on the watchout for predators 24/7.

It's a stressful and overall shitty experience but the other option would be going back to the other roles that I'm frankly sick off already. I have the dream that someday I will be good enough as adc to actually make it fun, it's just the act of getting there that is hard. At least that is what I'm telling myself.

Is there a way to make this process less degrading and easier on the nerves? Or is playing adc just inherently stressful? How can I make this learning experience better for myself?

that's 90% of adc if you can't attack move correctly don't bother with the role/class you need to be able to attack move while watching out around you and use your spells/summoners spells at the same time

Like every time I'm in lane and I wanna farm I just get outpoked by the enemy and outclassed at every turn

that's hard to believe considering the meta is Fleet footwork+doran's shield atm agression bot lane is hard to pull off, next patch this will change

Every team fight there are so many assassin

Ezreal Xayah you're welcome

also overall you need to make sure your gold income is godlike the difference between a D1 and a challenger ADC is simply how much gold they can do 10 farm/min is what a d1/master adc can do at best over 10 farm/min is the farming of a challenger, Uzi is able to farm 15 minions/min

if you make sure you get 10 farm/min, you will see that suddenly you realise the adc role is easier this is because a marksman's game is almost entirely depending on how much gold he has the other factors are you not dying through whatever method, and being able to attack move correctly

It depends on the adc you're playing. Some are able to perform well and be carried by a team without much effort.

For example:

Caitlyn Jinx Sivir really don't require much skill.

Cait: You just need to learn that your game is a defensive one. Get people to chase you, set traps, and turn their chase into your kill. Long range, relatively safe csing, and hits farming stride fast.

Jinx: extremely strong wave clear on first item, long range, and can be build with many different rune combinations. Her Ult if you can learn to land it, will minimum give her 10 kills a game, even if you're a horrible laner. And if she gets her first two kills early, once she has a item 3094 , just owns the game as long as you know to stay behind some damage peel.

Sivir: greatest Wave clear in game with Q and W. Gets to ~ 50% Crit and she just can farm 2 lanes at once, and get into team fights in between. Her E is usually enough shield to turn most fights around.

Medium skill adcs:

Ezreal : Primary problem is learning to auto attack and abuse his passive after Q's.

MissFortune : Primary problem is learning to aim Q's. If you can Bounce Qs and always hit a champion with the second hit, you almost always win. The output is gigantic.

Tristana : Seems easy to play to people who don't play her, but her early game range has been scaled back, and her primary issue is resetting her W and only diving when she can ensure kills. Has good clear, awesome damage, but often gets tricked into feeding with summoner 7 summoner 14 summoners. Once you learn her, she's monstrous. Before you learn her, you're a liability.

Twitch : Harder to play correctly than Twitch mains make him out to be. He's relatively low range off ult, so gets bullied often in lane. Needs to learn to use W in pressure lanes to toxic minions and farm them without auto attacking. Needs to also learn not to get isolated or cut off from an escape path if he wants to reset Camouflage. Needs to learn not to start fights, but end them, because of how his ult works.

Varus Decent damage long range skill, stacking on hit debuff that triggers on skill hits. Mechanically slightly above average difficulty, but carried heavily by item 3124

Kaisa Getting used to and using her Evolved skill versions takes time and effort. Most use them wrong and only focus on using Ult to engage a low target, and Q them. That's improperly using champ. Gets semi bullied in lane. She's freelo vs someone isolated because of her Q. Minions screw her.

Hard skill adcs:

Kalista Timing her Rends, and link synergies, and using her hops correctly takes time and effort to master. If she fails and puts Rend on cooldown, she's a dead adc. Has 1v5 potential, but a highs kill cap.

Xayah Horrible if her move speed buff goes on cooldown. Laying feathers correctly takes talent to do without a team. MUST get fed early, or will get shut down most of the game. Rewarding if mastered.

Vayne Contrary to the Ire she creates. Pretty hard champ to master. Low range. Most of her damage lays in being able to use Tumble correctly. Her kit is entirely about all in, so if she's forced to run, she's going to die. Also, her Tumble is annoying because you can't precharge it and put it on cooldown. If you use it, and don't have a target near you to attack, you will create about a 6 second window where you cannot reset it. You will get assassinated in that time. Has no innate aoe wave clear. Needs to master csing.

Lucian Needs to get into auto attack range to be dangerous with skill resets. High potential, but also has a feed potential.

I'm that way too. I can't play ADC for shit, no matter how hard I try. It's just not for me I guess, considering the type of champs I play are nothing like marksmen. I tend to play a lot of divers, high mobility champs or tanky disrupters. I struggle on immobile squishy shit like Ashe and Annie. I have no knack for immobile squishy champs at all, Kayle being the only exception. The Marksman class has the largest number of immobile champions.
