I just outplayed a platinum player!

Hallbuster··1 votes·805 views

Look at my most recent match history and find the name,** Spc Leo**, my lane opponent. He played Lucian against my Vladimir. While I couldn't kill him during the lane phase, I did kill him, not once, but twice in a team fight!

The first time was with a flash + ult + E + Empowered Q which killed him before he killed me with an ignite.

The second time was with another empowered Q when he used his ultimate, a mistake that made him vulnerable to my attacks.

What I found the most suprising, was his KDA and CS. How did a platinum player end with a score of 12/17/5 and 120 CS in 20 minutes?

P.S the guy isn't boosted, he's carried plenty of games if you check his match history like I did. My Vladimir might have been too good for him.

Killing someone in a teamfight doesn't mean a whole lot.

He might've been playing a champ/role he normally doesn't play. I am D2 but put me on something like Zed mid or Lee Jg and I'm Gold at best.

He's the second platinum player I faced that went Lucian mid. I don't know why they're doing it.

Oh forgot to clarify, I might have killed him more than twice, but those 2 were my only solo kills meaning I had no help. It was 1 to 1.

It's trickle down. It's been played in pro play, most notably at MSI, been seeing it at high Diamond/Masters for wel over a week now.

You're just catching onto it just as he just caught onto it recently. People in lower elos take longer to catch on to new metas/move on from old ones. For example, I still see low ELO players banning Graves when it's just not necessary anymore.

So high Elo players climb by simply abusing meta picks?

Sugar Momma1 votes

No, they're just more sensitive to changes in the meta.

I see, so they know how to create a better team comp and play around advantages vs disadvantages.

Sorry to comment again, but I just want to make sure this is emphasized (regarding your latter point):

This game is SO much more than a 1 v 1. It really says not so much about your skill. I beat pro players sometimes in 1 v 1s or outplay them - that doesn't make me better at League than them. You climb through map awareness, consistency, farming, macro, game knowledge, etc.

Yeah, this is true. My biggest issue is consistency. I never get the same amount of CS, KDA, or even map awareness every game.

Dude has a 27% winrate... Dude is clearly boosted. He climbed to Diamond last season by playing Ashe and Jhin with around 70% winrate. This season he didnt touch them and he has 27% winrate overall. His CS and KDa is garbage compared to last year.

That's pretty disappointing, and here I thought I was against a real platinum player :/.

I'm a plat player for 2 seasons, plat players are inconsistent as hell, we're basically just glorified gold players honestly.

Sugar Momma1 votes

This. Didn't want to say it so I sound arrogant or anything, but Plat players really aren't that good - as a high Diamond player when I watch Plat games it looks just as awful to me as Gold or sometimes even Silver games.

That's because plat is right above gold and gold is within your placement matches, gold is low elo and plat is definitely not high elo.

Are you kidding me? You guys are the 4%! To be ranked this high means you have some kind of natural talent!

Same as above, if they were awful, how would the other 96% of players be playing.

LostFr0st2 votes

Pretty sure Plat/low diamond just means they've grinded a lot of games.

Hallbuster, you are able to place into gold elo within your first 10 placement matches, doesnt that tell you that plat is low elo? Should tell you that. Btw NO one on this game will give you the credit you deserve, you could go out there and beat 10 diamonds in one day, prove it to the players, then they'll just call the diamond players trolls and you a noob

He is. Look his stats on OP.GG , he was Diamond last season with high winrates on Ashe and Jhin with high CS and KDa. This season he only has one good game with Anivia and rest is garbage

Ahoy! kudos on the win. Yet again I will be disagreeing with you and your analysis of that match thou buddy. I hope someday we will see more eye to eye on this lol.

So, your "**What I found the most suprising, was his KDA and CS. How did a platinum player end with a score of 12/17/5 and 120 CS in 20 minutes?" **makes it sound like the game lasted only 20 min and he only got 120 cs (inaccurate number and I don't know where your grabbing it from btw.) It was a 40 min game and he got 229 cs ultimately ending the game with more cs then you (202). Also his cs at 20 min was 109 and yours was 101, you got 1 cs away at 21 min but he got back the cs lead and never lost it for rest of game, the 41min gold time line has Lucian ending with a 100 gold lead on you still despite being on losing team. At 15 min he had 2k gold advantage on you. I don't think this shows you having made any real impact vs him in lane, and claiming credit for winning team fights is a stretch as well, as your numbers are not above your teammates. Where as Lucians teammates are not even near his numbers, velkoz support being the 2nd most positive player on his team. Xin jungle failed his team badly and was a level 13 account. Xayah farmed but only farmed, her cs was best in game but her damage to champs (job of adc) was under 20k. Dari was aight comparatively to jungle and adc but did not impact the match all to much.

So You lost in lane to him as far as CS and gold generation go and this win was largely due to a performance between the 2 teams then any 1 individual player playing super well. the three worst preforming players where all on Lucians team and despite this he did well in the desired metrics for an adc champion. You mention that you went a kill for a kill after blowing flash, not exactly an outplay moment, getting him in a team fight with a single Q when he was low health is also not really representative of your skill as well. You should be bursting squishy so that's good and I'm happy your targeting the correct threats in fights, but its a collective effort after lane phase ends.

TLDR, Calling this guy out and claiming credit for beating him comes to me as disingenuous, especially when you provided inaccurate and unclear information on his CS and the match length. I hope in future posts you try to consider the impact of teammates a bit more for both sides and mention it. Alternately you may wanna start using the replay feature if you just wanna make a highlight reel post.

Platinums are mortal after all.

This is a victory for Silver Pride.

(I'm kidding, he's probably just playing some champ he doesn't regularly practice)

The guy has a 27% winrate. Has only 4 games played on Lucian. His average KDA/CS is terrible on all his champions but Anivia.

Also I dont know why you came to the boards to say this. Are you trying to brag that you beat a plat 3 player? Because I have beat many smurfs with over 90% winrates in ranked in my lane. Where I actually beat them, as in denying their cs, and making then go 2/7 in 15 minutes.

Bronze - D5 players arent considered good. Theyre decent at best, and this is coming from a person who has made it to plat 1 with diamond 3 mmr on his main account (Im testing fervor out on this account). Good players would be Diamond 1+. Just look at boosting sites, they require you to be D1+ in order to get paid to smurf.

This is directed to your second paragraph: that's the strategy the platinum Lucan used against me. I should try doing it sometimes.....

As for the rest, it seems pretty difficult for the average player to achieve :/. Diamond 1 to smurf..... oh geez.
