Karthus next patch?

I kinda wanna pick up again as my main mid laner and since the next patch coming around next week is gonna have big changes, I was wondering what I should build on him now vs then?

I was thinking if something like (or ) / would work best for him. Unless his low-ish ratios are deceiving me, would the buffs to the AP for this build in Liandry's and Seraph's be enough to make up for the large AP loss in a Deathcap (since his ratios are kind of low, would going for a more durable build work better as opposed to going glass?)

I usually do but this build makes me feel too squishy, especially when I'm fighting someone with respectable burst damage.

Yeah all those items are tempting. But I personally think RoA isn't needed at this meta. It's too slow after you build a tear ya know. Personally i would build a rabadon 2nd (which is really buffed) so my requiem could give certain death. Seraph also has its Ap amped into a total of 140 with your mana right?

I think so, it has 80 base AP at least

I feel like Rabadon's is really expensive; does it provide that big of a power spike that I should get it always?

Just the usual item 3040 item 3027 item 3157 item 3089 item 3135 item 3020 works great

Because of his damage with Q, I was thinking WoTA might even be a good item on him after the item re-works.

People forget CDR on Karthus is one of the most valuable things. 5% from masteries and 15% from item 3158 will give you 20% yeah you might not have the extra damage from item 3020 but you will be able to use ult and Q more often. Which is more DPS.

I always built close to or capped on CDR when going jungle Karthus, but Runeglaive makes me a little hesitant to try it now.

Just replace RoA with Rylai's.

I'd say replace RoA with liandries and your build is set. CDR is tempting but I find a more rapid Q results in me burning my mana too quickly and not using my ult as carefully. Perhaps if you're ahead you could get CDR boots, but when behind there is no way you can afford to not be building damage because that's your only use as a champion.
