"Twilight Shroud (W) base duration increased from 4/4.5/5/5.5/6 to 5/5.5/6/6.5/7"

Classic. Yknow don't give it qol changes to lower her ban rate. Instead let's increase her ban rate. Watch out kass, akali is coming for you

They're increasing the duration, but also making it so that it takes her longer to return to stealth, she'll have a momentary shimmer after returning to stealth, and targeted abilities will complete (instead of being canceled) if she stealths during the cast time.

A 1-second duration buff is paltry compared to the nerfs that are incoming.

They buff the duration because they change how the stealth works and it will be far less safe for her to unstealth in danger. What's your issue? They are literally addressing what causes so many issues for low IQ players.

What's likely in 8.24b Patch 8.24b, our final balance changes of the year, will be out next week. Run down below of what's likely in it. Anything not listed that you're seeing on the PBE is almost certainly a 9.1 change or later. Given this patch will be live for longer than usual and our ability to respond to balance issues is extremely limited during the holiday period we're being careful not to swing too hard on any particular thing, hence a larger number of small to moderate sized changes.

Buffs: Aurelion Sol Caitlyn Corki Singed Varus Vayne Volibear Warwick Outer Turret MR/Armor post 14 min (40 instead of 0) Forbidden Idol based item buffs (details TBD at time of writing)

Nerfs: Akali (possible changes move to 9.1, targeting 8.24b for now though) Alistar Cassiopeia Kassadin Pyke (focused on mid Pyke) Tiamat Zeke's

  1. Riot Scruffy noted some Akali changes that should be testing on the PBE this cycle: "Testing some changes to akali shroud to give opponents more options to retaliate against her: -Slightly longer time delay before she stealths -Spells partially through their cast time will complete instead of cancel -Akali shows a "shimmer" of herself briefly after stealthing"

Personally I'd be okay with them literally doubling the damage from her Q, but cutting her shroud duration in half or increasing the cooldown. If I dive on Akali and she uses her shroud to stay safe, that's totally fine. She did what she's supposed to do. The problem(for me personally) is that she can dance around in it for long enough that any advantage I MIGHT have(Buffs/Debuffs) has faded, and by the time my combo is back up so is her shroud.

I'm totally fine with her shroud meaning "No, don't fight me right now, I'll beat you." The part that bothers me is that it's up just as often as my combo is, and lasts long enough in between for my shield to fall off, my moonlight falls off, etc. So there's just not a viable window of opportunity to punish her outside of her just being bad.

She has a terrible winrate, but buffing the one part of her kit that has no real "counter play"(Other than walk away, of course.) unless you're an AOE Control mage, doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Buff the rest, reduce the shroud's uptime, allow her to move off the ban list and function in game.
