If your midlaner saw an Annie with stun up walk towards them and did not react they kinda deserved to die.

The most effective counterplay to Annie is not appearing in distance lesser than screen long.

Alternatively, remembering that she is a zero mobility low range burst champion and is thus extremely strong in her range and extremely weak outside of it. Additionally, her stun will only be up for one ability, and thus if the jungler ganks (which should be easy against a no mobility champion who can only realistically stun one of her attackers) they get a free kill or force her to use flash, gutting her kill pressure.

Last time I checked every champion has following counterplay:

  1. Stay outside the range.
  2. CC - with exception of CC-immunity, but those aren't permanent.

There is no Annie - specific counterplay.

too bad annie's range is probably one of the smallest effective ranges in the game. And global ults beat your first statement.

Vistha Kai1 votes

There is only one global ultimate and it doesn't deal damage.

Also, Annie's effective range is 890 +/- 425 from Flash.

Karthus?

Jinx/Ashe/Ezreal...just a couple of globals that deal damage.

Then there are near globals like Ziggs/Xerath who can hit you from across the map as well.

You really have no clue what you are talking.

I... um... totally derped there.

Subconsciously I must've been thinking about teleports, durr.

Wrong. I'm an Annie main. Have your stun up and being chased? Are the chasers close and clattered together? Bam, throw a W and all of them are stunned. She can stun more than one with her W and R.

W and R both cannot hit a target in front of and behind Annie though (barring them both hugging her at the time for R), meaning in lane she is still very vulnerable to ganks due to only being able to stun one (also barring the jungler coming head on with the laner which isn't really much of a gank).

Yes they can hit in front or behind. W is a front way spell, just turn around to throw behind, and R is a placement so you can place it behind or front of you. And yes, W can stun more than one if they are clustered together in the range of her spell. I know cause its happened plenty with me.

I meant at the same time. I know they can be aimed to hit either way, but you cannot stun both ways at all.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

Ah thats what you meant, your right, if champs are coming at her both ways she can only stun one side unless she was built with full CDR and able to get enough spells off to stun the other, but she would probably be dead before she could.

Vistha Kai1 votes

But basically an enemy jungler would have to come from Annie's tower. There are like 3 junglers who can do that good enough.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

Doesn't have to happen in lane. She could be anywhere and be ambushed from both sides.

Goodest Gamer1 votes

i like how that was said about tf then he got nerfed for him being able to keep his stun. but nice meme tho.

wow a burst heavy champ used all her cooldowns on probably a squishy AP/ad champion and got a kill...who woulda thunk it.

Saint Latona2 votes

Pretty sure that Annie's victim has to attack her for her E to do damage. Which is very unlikely cause he/she is either running away like hell or dead.

Why was your mid taking ignite against Annie instead of Barrier, Heal or Exhaust, if they can't stay outside her range? Shit, if they were playing a long range mage, why are they even taking ignite against Annie instead of Barrier, Heal or Exhaust?
