I have noticed a very sharp increase of toxicity in diamond ever since autofill was enabled. I'd say the people who blindly defend Riot with no consideration of how their decisions effect the playerbase are a better example of why this community is seen as toxic.

I have noticed a very sharp increase of QQ threads on the boards regarding SoloQ.

To fix this I'd suggest switching game because this is a TEAMGAME. I don't know if you can't get this into your head, but it's not SUPPOSED to be solo. Same goes for autofill. If you're diamond and can't play every role on a decent level you aren't supposed to be up there. Get over it.

The problem is a lot of other people do not handle autofill very well, and these people can end up on my or the enemy's team and nobody has fun when this happens.

See it is people like you who are anti-change, rude, use terms like QQ and tell people "ur kind aint welcome round herrreee" who made WoW have such an alienating community. So I suggest toning back on criticizing a popular boards support main because they don't like a toxic feature that ruins game experience.

I don't think auto-fill is toxic really at all...The core problem is that players don't play support as often as other roles. That's a gameplay problem and auto-fill is simply a patch over the problem. I think the evolution of the game has made it so that autofill is perfectly acceptable as a trade off so that I can play my role MOST of the time, just not all the time.

I'm all for change, I just dislike QQers who constantly bitch about a mechanic in a game they are ALLOWED to play.

Nobody forces them to play this game
It's Riots game (Tencent if you want) so they are allowed to do with it whatever they want, which leads to
Players somehow feel entitled these days. Years ago they were proud to be ALLOWED to play a game like this.

This game was buildt to all its glory on soloQ mate. You better not forget that. I dont know if you cant get this into your head, but having a team game, built on people forming teams of strangers, qeuing as individual members, are a perfectly legal TEAM GAME SETTING.

It does though, especially in diamond. Virtually every match I play has at least one person being autofilled.

If the enemy team has an autofilled support I basically automatically win the match. How is this not toxic?

And they concluded they had to put auto fill in to effect for diamond and higher last year so it is not like Diamond is going to find any salvation.

I know how to play mid, jungle, and top. I may not be the best at any of the roles but that still 3 of the 5 roles that there are. Thats the majority of roles. If it randomly gave me one of those 3, I would gladly take that over somewhere that I don't find as interesting/don't play.

I miss pick order. This system seems to be a decent compromise. I generally get top/mid half the time with a few auto fills.

It's not perfect, but it's not as bad as last year when the game was unplayable.

There are a couple of things that contribute to this that nobody ever seems to mention:

Auto-fill prioritizes giving as many people as possible their primary role. I used to queue any role primary and support secondary and get support 80% of the time (as opposed to 100% for primary support). When doing this with auto-fill enabled, I almost never get support, and there's pretty consistently someone who was auto-filled support. I'd much rather play my secondary role than have someone on my team auto-filled.
ALMOST NOBODY ASKS TO SWAP IF THEY GET AUTOFILLED. Yeah, you won't always be able to swap, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't at least ask. In my case for example, I would gladly trade pretty much anyone who gets auto-filled as support, and I know for a fact that there are other people out there with exactly the same mentality.

Splitting your playerbase like this is almost NEVER a good idea but I doubt Riot, being one of the most toxic resentful companies of it's playerbase I've ever seen, will ever admit to wrongdoing or even a mistake in this regard.
