What is wrong with your main

Shadow Hazard··10 votes·1,825 views

I believe that it is fundamentally impossible to actually call a champion perfect. So to all the mains/otp's..... What is wrong with your champ, what are the fundamental issues of your champ, not built in weakness by design although that may sometimes overlap with something that is a foundational weakness.

Many times we can very easily get opinions on a champs issues from the perspective coming more from people against the champ, which would easily be the majority of most post complaining about a champ. I am sure a few current outliers are going to be easy to point out, but there are always the more niche champs that can end up being ignored by the meta complaint thread since they aren't seen as often.

Gangplank ?

Well his laning if uninteractive but not too much. It can be oppressive if you are a tank or you don't know what you are doing, which isn't really OK for a late game scaler.

His kit just doesn't make much sense thematically. Yes its fun AF but really? Some of these abilities are a stretch. How do oranges cure you from being stunned? How do you even eat an orange if you are stunned? How are your cannonballs instant if GP needs to launch a flare first and the cannons need to travel from like across the planet to land in the right spot. Also HE LAUNCHES CANNONS AT AN INCREDIBLY PRECISE POINT FROM ACROSS THE PLANET LITERALLY INSTANTLY! SOMEBODY AT NORTH KOREA CALL GP'S SHIP DESIGNER TO DESIGN THEIR ICBMS!

But I think the biggest sin is that you really don't feel like a manly pirate when you play him. You are rewarded for playing cowardly and passively and you really want to stay outside of melee range except when you have landed a barrel, where as GP in lore would probably be in your face slashing you in half constantly. ALSO HE CAN CAUSE BARRELS TO APPEAR FROM THIN-AIR, AND THESE BARRELS MAGICALLY LINK TO EACHOTHER WITH POWDER THAT LITERALLY JUST APPEARS OUT OF NO-WHERE. THIS IS THE LEAST LOGICAL CHAMPION IN LEAGUE OF LEGENDS. ALMOST ALL OF HIS ABILITIES DEFY THE LAWS OF PHYSICS. HOW IS HE ABLE TO JUST RANDOMLY LIGHT HIS SWORD ON FIRE WHEN HE HASN'T TOUCHED THE DAMN THING. HOW DOES THE SWORD STAY ON FIRE FOR SO LONG WHEN IT HAS NO FUEL AND IS ON FUCKING METAL. WTF.

Bârd3 votes

The flaming sword is possible, though it requires a bit of engineering.

His scabbard (wherever he's hiding it) would have to have a reservoir of a flammable, sticky, and clean burning substance (we don't see plumes of smoke coming off the blade, after all) as well as a flint on the opening, set up to resist the blade being pulled out of the scabbard.

With such an apparatus, the blade would be coated in flammable liquid every time he sheathes it, and a shower of sparks would be unleashed whenever he unsheathed it, igniting the liquid and setting the blade on fire.

Of course, this wouldn't allow the blade to randomly re-ignite or remain ignited indefinitely, as in game, but fuck it.

Your passive gives 100% AS as long as you keep spamming spells and you can keep spamming spells as long as you keep hitting with passive

Deals some nasty ass muramana procs which heal your ass cos catalyst by spamming heal and shield and stun spells :S And if you get damaged, you refill your mana pool because catalyst and then heal/shield the damage anyway so your muramana procs keep hitting hard

my main is Nidalee

whats wrong with her? she frankly is too weak in too many matchups to be viable she is supposed to be strong early and mid game and weak late game

and while she IS most definitely weak lategame

her early-mid game really isnt much better than most other champsions

unlick every other assassin nidalee NEEDS to land a spear to fight

all her diable is tied to that.. the spear itself does some damage

landing the spear procs hunted which allows you to pounce to close the cap

pouncing to a hunted target lowers the cooldown on pounce (ill get into more specifics in a bit)

an takedown does more damage vs hunted targets

so if u dont land that spear you didt start off with a chunk of damage before the fight you dont have an good gap closer. and you takedown does MUCH less damage

since since takedown scales with how low the enemy is the lower they are when u use it the more damage it does.

what all this means is... if the spear misses.. and then go in on you... your going to lose...

not to mention even if the spear lands... you cant just pounce in nidalee is a squishy champsion that will get blown up if she gets hit by any from of cc

she has a heal if she surives the fight to heal up, yes... but if your dead that heal isn't going to help you

the new item 3812 makes it so she needs to do 143% damage to execute a target

the 30% bleed make it so takedown does less damage and unless you GET that execute you have just used EVERY ability except yoyur heal and your traps...

so let get into her traps...

her traps are worthless

all they do is provide true sight when they are stepped on... which can also be done with your spear

BEFORE nid's rework traps did 80 damage at lvl 1.. more than a lvl 1 max range spear AND had armor and MR shred to boot

POST rework that damage was cut to 20, and the duration was halfed, but in return she got % HP mage damage

this albeit extremely unreliable, at least made it so people CARED if they stepped on a trap

and it was her only real defense vs tanks and bruisers

her pounce also now resets when killign a unit or pouncing to a hunted unit

except NOW they made it so you dont get the full reset until lvl 16... by which time you're not going to win any fight anyways.

this along with the trap nerf also destroyed her ability to lane.

the removal of strength of the ages really hurt her as it lowered her HP as did the same patch the gutting of item 3116 , which was the ONLY AP + HP item that wasnt gated by some effect nidalee couldnt use very well AND also gave a form of CC which although nidalee couldnt make use of herself (as if she landed the spear she could already close the gap and there was no other way to really proc it) ... the runic proc would allow it to pounce to the enemy team and help in teamfight

and then for absolutely no reason riot increase her kitty skill from 5 seconds to 6 seconds.

Rakan needs to have his E range normalized. That way his E can be around 850 standard. His e is either too short and will get him killed without Xayah or allows him to escape the dumbest situations if he is with her. At the very least allow teammates to see his E range indicator so they know how close they need to stay to him.

His Passive is annoying to play against

You have to buy QSS or he will delete you. Sometimes QSS won't even matter

Doesn't feel that impactful pre-6. Not saying it's impossible to do anything until then, far from it actually, but it's kinda hard without burning summoners or a misplay from the enemy and sometimes its annoying to have the enemy roaming early and you can't match.

Voidlings get 1 shot by a cool breeze.

Thats all I got off the top of my head.

Lux

Yikes, where to start?

Well, her laning is ridiculously s222afe, all she does is throw her E to poke at you from a million miles away, then snares you and dips if you try to fight her. Unless I'm extending way too far for harass, it's basically impossible for me to die in a gank unless I get dove by three people.

Lux scales absurdly well into the mid and late game, and gets even more binary as she goes. After getting a couple of items, you just throw Q until you hit a squishy and then just delete them instantly and then you're useless until your ult is back up and you do the same thing again. You can use E to poke, but it's better to zone with, you can shield, but it doesn't do anything unless you build support, you can kinda peel with Q, but it travels really slowly and isn't a very long root. If you get stupid fed you don't really need ult if you use passive correctly, but most games you just wait for ult to be up, snare someone and kill them with basically no counterplay.

Lux has the same problem as old Nidalee, she misses a thousand Q's, but the second one connects, you'd better pray you have a shield or enough MR to not be vaporized instantly.

The worst part though, is that she isn't even strong. She's had a 45% winrate for a long time, but because it feels like shit to play against her, she will probably not get the proper attention she needs. I would love to have my ult nerfed so that I can actually have meaningful play patterns and do more than just fish for one-shot. Buff her shield, make her E cost less mana but make it smaller, make Q do more damage but have a longer cooldown, etc. I can make a post on every change I think would help if anyone cares, but yeah, Lux has a lot of issues that need to be addressed sooner or later.

Killed Inaction1 votes

Lux main as well.

I agree with much of what you said. Personally, I would like it if the E bolt traveled a bit faster but hit a smaller area. I don't think Q damage should be increased, since it does more than E per target if you level it up, but I also think the cooldown is okay the way it is. I don't think the ultimate change (giving extra CDR on it if it kills) was at all necessary—I think it was good that it gave her a one-shot combo on carries, but was gated by a fairly long cooldown at lower ranks. Honestly, I think the cooldown should be lowered a bit at rank 1, increased a bit at rank 3, and the CDR effect removed. That would allow the burst to be gated more effectively and provide a more clear period of weakness.

I became a Lux one-trick this season, and my ranked win rate is around 50%, but in my recent games I have a 60-70% win rate. I think that's a testament to the skill cap and floor on this champion. Given how all of her abilities are skillshots, I feel like she's in a pretty healthy place overall, aside from what I mentioned above. Also, I should note that I've played her primarily as a support-carry. I didn't do that to troll; I did it because it was the most fun at the time. I'm moving to midlane with her at the moment, and I'm seeing just how clear-cut her capabilities in-lane are—either you're hard-countered and lose lane, or they pick first or something ineffective and you win lane, almost every time. I feel like some changes to provide more ambiguity in picks would help her a lot, not power-wise, but to make her more fun to play and to play against.

I think it's a bit too easy to look for "problems" on most champions, but let's be honest here, in general, most champions are fairly healthy. I honestly wouldn't play Lux if she was "broken." It wouldn't be fun. I play her for her skillshots and outplay potential, and for her situational weaknesses. Again, I do feel like some changes would be great, but I don't agree that as many changes should be made as you've proposed.

Just my two cents'.

Limrick1 votes

I appreciate the input a lot, it's always good to get other opinions involved.

I agree with just about everything you said, and obviously I love Lux, or I wouldn't have 200k mastery lol. It makes me really happy to hear that you're enjoying and doing well with her, and don't feel bad about playing her support, she can be pretty good there if you play it right.

Most of those changes I proposed were just quick little things, and I don't think all or even most of them should be implemented at all. The only thing I believe 100% should be done is buff her shield. Even support Lux will max it last 80% of the time unless she wants to abuse item 3174 item 3504 with Windspeakers. I wasn't a fan of the CDR change to her ult, but after playing with it, its barely even there early on and at rank 3 it lets you do more in fights, which I like. But I wouldn't be opposed to having it reverted in favor of something else.

Killed Inaction1 votes

As support I usually max E>W>Q. Even without windspeaker's or either of those items, the AP ratios are actually pretty good provided your team doesn't juke it. In the middle of a teamfight it can be gamechanging. The reason I'm moving to mid lane is because I build her as a carry and I'm becoming comfortable csing, so I figured it might be better for my team.

And I do agree, not many changes are really needed, per se. I think the majority of players would be perfectly fine with it if she was just left alone forever.

Taric he relies on linked allies or enemies to jump on for his e to be good

NLGG3R BEATER2 votes

MasterYi Way too vulnerable to cc in lategame teamfights. With the current triple on hit meta build he has no burst whatsoever as his alpha strike damage falls off hard lategame. Other carries like Katarina Yasuo have some sort of cc and/or high burst damage so that if they get blown up they'd at least go 1 for 1. Since YI Isn't meant to have cc in his kit it'd be nice if he's somehow resilient to it. A good start would be reworking his W into an instant cast spellshield so coupling it would his Q can be really rewarding if used properly, and crit Yi would be relevant in that regard, least he wouldn't have to rely on shitty items like EoN or Scimitar that do not synergize with his kit whatsoever to teamfight.

Thrëat2 votes

Nocturne - Fear's tether time before fearing is way too long. Considering he has to 'get up in there' to do the fear it is kind of stupid considering how much safe point and click insta CC there is in the game. It takes someone to really not be paying attention for the fear to go off and since it is his only CC it is a huge part of his kit. The magic damage on it should be reduced, maybe even the duration, from (1.25 to 2.25) to (.75 to 1.5).

His Q shouldn't lose its move through unit passive if you have phantom dancer. This has been around for a while and I am pretty sure it is a bug that some reason does not get any attention.

His base attack speed is pretty bad considering he relies heavily on it. They try to make up for it with his W passive doubling after blocking an ability, but it makes it so that attack speed items, which SHOULD be built on Nocturne, become pretty weak since attack speed is a % item that scales off base.

I build him bursty so I dont really agree with the last one but the first one would be nice.

He is good for building bursty vs squishies/carried, but vs anything tanky the burst build falls off fast. His Q gives +55AD, so the higher the attack speed = the more you can utilize that +55 when fighting on trail. He is supposed to be a DPS champ kind of like Yi, but instead a lot of people play him like a weaker Kha Zix.

Lol, all jokes aside, I feel like he is in a really good spot. His W is underated and honestly makes him a really strong assassin. I would maybe change the E tether, but that is simply because it is a weak CC, even though a buff on it would make him bonkers in my opinion in soloque.

Lissandra

She has a majority of bad match ups, few even ones and even fewer favourable ones. She's also a relatively popular pick in the LCS if she's ever strong. So she's pretty much is always going to be on Riot's radar whenever she's doing mildly well for herself.

She's also niche, and she doesn't even fill that niche any better than other meta mages. She's generally lauded as countering assassins, however that doesn't become true until you've invested quite a few games into her because of the inherent issues players come across in her kit. The most glaring is mana costs, although that's may be a bit of a moot point imo since her passive buff a few patches ago. She can easily go without a mana item these days because of it. That aside, there's also her low range making her need to get into quite a danger zone when dealing with assassins. Because of this you really need to understand how the enemy assassin works and how to effectively kite in and out of range, otherwise you'll have a very bad time.

Lack of damage also comes into play a lot and is the reason she has so few favourable match ups. Most mages(and melees for that matter) pressure her into a defensive playstyle where all she can really do is waveclear and try to get some poke in. This again ties into her low range too tbh, as again she puts herself in considerable danger against competent players.

And finally, the biggest flaw yet, removal of taunt spam. This is the change that gutted Lissandra into trash tier and I will fight you on this.

All that said, while she has quite a few flaws, I still think she's an amazing and fun champion.

Amazing team fighting potential thanks to his E and R which can damage multiple champions at once. A big weakness of his is actually his mobility.

Becuase of it his base stats have been stripped down and his damage weakened.

She's supposed to be a late game goddess who wrecks enemy team with poke/ controls a zone with it and who can access enemy backline and remove it if they misstep. Hp regen being higher on items and the presence of water drake make her poke weaker, and the backline is usually too tanky to get oneshotted. Her teamfight potential and utility are still good but there are better and more reliable alternatives to these traits (like Ori). She's completely fine herself but in the situation around other champions fit better.
