AP means a hell of a lot less than AD in terms of value. AP requires you be constantly casting spells and dealing damage in order to make the stat efficient. When attacking structures, only 40% of your AP value is added to your attacks (if your AD value isn't greater) and AP adds very little to your auto attacks (and that's either because of the Enchanted Blade mastery or because of or . AP is designed to make up for the lack of offensive/pushing power in favor of Utility.

Meanwhile, AD (ignoring mitigation) applies Full damage to Auto Attacks, Can scale on certain abilities (Riven is actually one of the strongest AD Scalers in the game) and deals full damage to towers. When you get AD, you are not meant to have Utility, it's meant to be a Purely Offensive stat. So the fact that Riven gains Utility off of a stat that, by design, is not meant to give Utility, inherently makes her unbalanced. Combine this with some of the strongest AD burst in the entire game on a champion you can't fully shut down (believe me, I've done exactly that and still seen that bitch come back into the game) and you have one stupid as hell champion.

EDIT: Riven's Shield is even stronger than Lulu's unless she builds Pure AP. Lulu's Shield is up to 240 +60% AP, Riven's Shield is 210 + 100% bonus AD. Please quote ratios next time.

Look at most riven mains lol, they are very toxic and they think they are the best, using the most difficult champ of leauge. For them obv. So, because that comment was too stupid I'll write my thoughts Well, we all know that Riven is one of the most hated champions in league, for her high scalings, insane mobility, ad scaling shield, AoE execute and other things. I do not think she is op right now, but like Vayne there are problems in her kit. For example, Vayne has a passive that let her does true damage basing on % max health. Thing is, most of the times you don't even need to kill a squshy with a proc, you can just ult Q auto auto and there is the kill, she has self peel and she's mobile. On tank you just need 2-3 procs and they are melted like a no defense tristana that is getting ulted from Syndra. Riven, instead, she does not need her ult for killing even tanks. She has high base damage and extremely high scalings, so with LW, Black Cleaver is quite easy to deal with all enemies. Thing is, most of the times in this community when someone gets killed he screams ''OP NO COUNTERPLAY I DESERVE MORE GG TEAM NO HELP'' No one can admit his mistakes, and then they cry on boards asking for nerfs/changes/blowjobs. And I am saying this from a Silver 1, not a Diamond 2.
