A New Xerath Ult
Xerath's current ultimate feels somewhat lackluster. Its range is easily determined by enemies, the blast radius is quite small, and the shots are somewhat easy to dodge; in short, I don't find that much use for it. Quoting an associate of mine:
"Xerath's new ultimate destroyed my fantasy for Xerath. Long-ranged artillery is my fantasy for Kog'Maw, not Xerath. My fantasy for Xerath was being the eye of the storm - tearing away at the front-line or anything close enough. In its current state, Rite of the Arcane feels gimmicky; a bad version of Requiem; potshotting for a cheeky kill . . ."
So I thought about it. After signalizing the last few champions and reworks, I saw a trend. We now have a champion who raises up towers to fight for him; another who can negate virtually all incoming projectiles with the push of a button; a champion who changes forms unwillingly; and a rework that gives you a CC-immune, high-speed dash that pulverizes opponents on collision—no idea is too outrageous, I realized. If that's indeed the case, and I'm not imagining it... let me put this forward.
**ACTIVE: ** Xerath anchors himself to his current location and begins channeling for X seconds. After a 0.35 second delay, he calls down five pillars of destructive energy that individually deal magic damage equal to X% of his enemies' (current OR maximum) health per second. The beams' trajectory slowly updates toward the mouse cursor over the duration, converging into a single intensified beam after X seconds. The intensified beam moves partially slower, but deals increased damage across a larger area.
This ability can be reactivated to end its effects early; potentially for a reduced cooldown.

Thoughts? I haven't figured out a name yet, but I want something along the lines of "God's Divine Wrath".
