Why does rengar's ult last five years? It's way too forgiving for clicking it too early

Plus it's meant to sneak up to/stalk the enemy.

It's camouflage so you can't escape with it. Honestly I don't see how you can activate it "too early"

Also they increased the range of the ! to make sure you know rengar is there. Who cares if his ultimate is a little longer. It really doesn't change anything.

Since most games are decided by the time teams start grouping, i feel most champs dont have any way to respond.

that works after 25 min when the team is attempting to stay grouped. But games are usually decided by then so rengar gets to ult and jump on single targets most of the game.
Also control wards feel so useless at spotting camouflaged units
