Aram snowballs need to stay!

In defense of the snowballs 1)ignoring win rates (because winrates rely on alot more than a summoner spell being able to change the champion winrate) It actually allows a full melee team with next to no range, be viable to go up against a full ranged full poke team (if you dont dash at least it does a small bit of dmg every 20 seconds)

  1. It should give a buff! : saw in another thread somebody posted that it should give defenensive boosts once you dash, Thats a great idea! or my idea would be CC immunity for 3-4 seconds (they cant stun/snare/or otherwise make you unable to do anything)

  2. The range is fine: I REPEAT THE RANGE A PROJECTILE SPEED IS FINE What you need to do is nerf it by making it an actual projectile than can be stopped by yasuo's wind wall, braums shield, spell shields ect.

  3. Anyone who openly is admitting to wanting the snowball changed or removed is one of three people

the most likely is

  1. somebody with a smurf (or on their normal account) who is an aram tryhard playing it only to win, so theyve only got the top 15 champs played in aram and are now pissed because "muh easy wins!"

  2. they aren't the first option but they get lucky and almost always get ranged or reroll into ranged champs because they know ranged is better

  3. or they dont care what they get they are just tired of "the scary tank meta" because thats about 75% of thread I see is people complaining that aram now has the tank meta in it aswell

Snowballs of doom made aram better.

No more suffering against all ranged teams for majority of the time till late game.

I think the only problem is the damage and cooldown. For such a good engaging spell its cooldown is so short.

agree.. need to make it maybe 100secs to cd

Why do people who like the snowball change constantly assume that the people who don't (your #4) above fall into those buckets you listed? I'm none of those things, I'm a long time ARAM only player, and I dislike how much this has changed the "feel" and dynamic of the mode. It wasn't broken, didn't need this "fix".

Yes, it did. "Majority" of the time Aram was already decided at champion select who would win. With this new summoners spell, it tilts it in a way that each team "may" have a better chance. Then again, I don't know much. I hardly play ARAM. Only played 700 ARAM games. I have not played ARAM in the last week so I have not tried out the new summoner. However, if it is anything like the summoner from Poro King. Then the game "should" be a little more balanced imo.

That situation ("decided at champ select") was actually pretty rare. Sure, some games were a total massacre, but most weren't if the teams had capable players on them and neither team was plagued by a (too often) AFK'er. Now it's literally a chaotic gong show of a mode.

NO it really needed to be changed, the same goes for Dominion but Riot ignores both of them quite a bit.

Literally the only people crying about snowball are the scum that use smurfs to use Soaka/Sona/Nidalee in ARAM.

No, not true.

I retort with "Literally the only people who say this hardly ever play ARAM.".

For me, snowballs basically made rerolls unnecessary. I'd only use them in the event I roll a champion that I actually can't play well and no one on my team wants them. I agree it could stand to be tweaked a bit; the range is a bit unnecessarily long imo and the upfront damage is pretty significant (I think the changes on PBE are good, moving the damage to the second activation), but I think the spell is overall a good thing.

I completely agree with the original poster on this one!

I have ~2000 wins in aram...snowballs ruin the game. Pretty much all you hear is the typical troll "ARAM is fun who cares" who uses the snowball to ruin the game.

And yet you mention changes.

Changes for balance are not wrong.

You are wrong and should go back to SR because:

  1. The full melee team vs the full ranged CC team is maybe a 1 in 50 games occurrence. That is not a reason to sweepingly destroy any semblance of balance in the other 49 games by giving champions like Amumu Galio Morgana Katarina Leblanc 2500 range gapclosers on a 20s cooldown with some sweet true damage to boot.

  2. It is already destroying the feeble semblance of balance in ARAM (see^). Why increase the effect?

  3. The range is not fine. It is 100% safe to use from far beyond the fog of war. This makes it ridiculously long range for no reason whatsoever and actually invites more tower hugging. You have not presented a single argument to defend your statement that the range is fine.

  4. You are making a strawman argument and it is therefore automatically invalid. I actually play poppy and garen and kick ass with them in ARAM as do many other people with many other melee champions (like: Alistar Darius Fizz Garen Hecarim JarvanIV Jax Khazix LeeSin MasterYi Olaf Pantheon Poppy Renekton Rengar Riven Talon Trundle Udyr Vi Volibear MonkeyKing XinZhao Yasuo Zed ) By the way did I mention most of these oh-so-poor melee champs actually have built in gap closers that work fine and the chance that they get paired with a champ that has ranged CC is actually fairly high, thereby completely negating the argument that ARAM does not produce balanced games on average? Oh and hello I am item 2051 item 3800 here to close gaps and item 3143 item 3142 item 3044 item 3025 item 3022 item 3153 item 3146 stick to your targets.

Pssst, you wanna hear what counters this summoner spell?

item 3112

Don't tell anyone.

Or actually, go ahead. The upcoming "change" is going to nerf it pretty hard. It should be 50% mark 50% dash. :\

I only have around 1500 wins in ARAM. Here's what I feel about how snowball changes the game:

  • balanced team comp ( engages, tanks, mages, cc, adcXerath Amumu Fiddlesticks Jinx JarvanIV ) is till strong -- generally no change to this kind of team comp

  • all ranged team comp (meges and adcsNami Ezreal Brand Ashe Lux ) is going down -- they have to spend much more attention dodging the snoaballs otherwise there are very likely to get rekt by thoseAmumu Maokai Galio Yorick .

  • man team comp(tanks, engagesMaokai Amumu Alistar Galio Olaf ) is largely empowered - they weren't even hard before snowball came out since it was not hard to engage with summoner 6 summoner 4 item 3190 item 2051 item 3800 item 3069 . Now with the great help with summoner 32 +item 3083 man team comp is freakin' strong.

  • snowball makes some champs extremely easy(or "fun" if you wanna say) to play.........Alistar Maokai Shen

Many players complained about the "balance" of ARAM. it was true that all ranged team comp is more likely to win - actually all ranged team comp doesn't require much efforts to win. The fact was that all ranged team comp dominates only when you feed them too much or chase without thinking; or maybe someone being so negative because "their poke is insane". What i said is not absolute, but its what I feel after playing 3000 ARAMs.

If we only compare ranged with melee lets say this: before snowball came out: ranged 6 - melee 4 now: ranged 3 - melee 7
