Non Support Champions Feel More Helpful Botlane

It could just be the elo i'm in or other people and adc's can feel it as well. Whenever I play botlane I constantly find that mid laners top laners and junglers support me better than actual support champions. Brand vs Nami for example. He provides cc just like Nami can and poke for so much more damage. Sure Nami can heal but that wastes a lot of her mana and he can out damage her heal. Brand can be just as if not more impactful than she can in team fights. Why play Thresh we you can play Nautilus? He's much tankier and provides much more cc. Sure some support have really niche qualites that a non support couldnt hope to fullfil but most of them I feel like are outclassed by other mid top and junglers that go botlane to support.

A big part of the advantage is knowledge. Basically, a team should normally be stronger with an orthodox support. However, most players, even in high elo, aren't used to facing picks like Brand. Their positioning becomes flawed and they lose. It's a really annoying strategy that doesn't require knowledge, but punishes other players.

Here are a couple thoughts:

#1: Sona & Taric , true supports mind you, top the winrate charts regularly. And Janna was top winrate for like 6 years of League history.

#2: The lane is not the game. When I support I don't mind losing lane as long as I am much more impactful overall than my opponent. I don't care if Brand does 3x my damage as long as I make my team win by picking a true support.(E.g. Talon jumps on my Jinx so my Thresh saves her life and she kills him.)

#3: In a kill lane with Draven and the like, obviously Nautilus is better than a traditional support.

#4: SoloQ rewards aggressive players, so often the more impactful player will be the one who postures aggressively and has the confidence to pick killer champions.
