Elise as a jungler
So I'm a big fan of Elise, thematically and as a general concept. So a couple of things bugging me here (pun intended):
-
She only works as a jungler.
-
She isn't a competitive pick as a jungler.
-
her AP ratios are so dirt that she is built and played as a Bruiser/Tank. Wasn't she supposed to be a Mage/Assassin to begin with?
Specifically that second point. When a champion can only be played a single way in a single role, they should at least be able to perform in that role, right? Technically you can still play Elise, and she will still work, but there doesn't seem to be even a single reason to pick her over the other choices other than to give yourself a challenge.
One small fix I can think of would be to change the damage scaling on Neurotoxin. Instead of being % current health, make it a flat amount with good scaling that gets bonus damage based on how much current hp the enemy has, kind of like the opposite of Nidalee's Takedown. As a poking tool meant to put enemies into low enough health to burst them, you could even increase the mana cost and cooldown if you had to. That way she could actually be played in an assassin role. When built squishy, she is forced to be very careful in her positioning, and her Q has a pretty short range.
As for playing her in lane, I don't think it will ever be a good idea unless something is done to make her Volatile Spiderling a good harass skill, since all it does atm is aggro onto the creep wave and explode.
