Since choosing "fill" is basically choosing "support"

Are we going to address how unfulfilling support role is to play? I mean, it's pretty obvious that very few want to play it, and the majority obviously is expressing that it isn't fun to play. This has been true forever, but is all the more prominent with the release of dynamic queue. Choosing support is insta queue, choosing mid or top is a 10 min queue, and choosing fill is an automatic support queue.

I'm not saying I have answers on how to address this, and I imagine it's difficult to make the support role enjoyable without ruining balance and having supports rule the rift, but something should be done.

I got Mid once by choosing fill. It's rare but it can happen.

All the lies in the world. It may be almost impossible for YOU to get an S as a support, but I get them frequently.

how are you getting them if you give the kills to the damage champs

It's not based solely around kills. It may be slightly harder on a support champ, but it takes into account damage dealt, wards placed, win/loss, KDA, etc. Get a solid KDA like 3/3/30ish with 40+ wards placed and being a part of every team fight and you're bound to at least get an S-.

Support is actually so much fun if you know how to properly. I don't mean going Vel Koz or Brand. I mean actually supporting your team with a real support champ and turning teamfights for the better. Also, out of the 3 times I've chosen Fill, only once did I get Support.

As of last patch, fill is no longer only support. Multiple boards topics have been made over the last week or so celebrating this.

what change was made to make this true?

They adjusted the primary vs. secondary preferences, which gave more support primaries their actual primary, leaving less support slots open to be filled. Support primaries used to get it ~85% of the time, that's changed and up to ~95% now. So now less fills are getting support :)

Keep yourself informed before making out of the blue assertions, and assuming Riot is oblivious. Please note the "Future" section in the link below, which was posted 2 patches ago: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/gameplay/state-season-mid-season-followup

People just wanna kill kill kill. Kill this kill that team help me kill this penta penta penta!!!! Support roles in a multitude of games are usually underplayed. Its like a general multiplayer gaming thing. The only people who willing play support are those who genuinely want nothing more than to see their team to victory. I think people in other roles who never play support assume its boring. "Why would I help my team when I could kill the enemy!?" See support can be very fun. Just not in the same ways that the other roles are fun. I think personally the best part about support for is making people happy. I love getting people kills, saving their lives and winning teamfights cause it makes my teamates happy. Now granted most people will not notice all the the sick support "plays" you make. In fact often times people will associate any positive outcome with their pure skill, but I think thats the beauty of isn't it. You already know that you tried your hardest to help everyone on the team. So you don't to be told that you carried because you know that if you hadn't of landed that perfect ult during that last teamfight your team would've lost. I hope this encourages more people to play support. It really is a fun role just being helpful. Some beginner supports imo are sona, braum, nami. Those are my favorites. Also dont forget to buy sightstone and you buy sightstone remember to get the ward sweeper trinket so you can deny vision.
