What exactly is Veigar's weakness?

Cloud273··2 votes·1,761 views

Trick question. He is a hyper-scaling, free chalice, point and click burst champ. Shoving the lane doesn't work, because his 'w' clears the lane almost instantly. Extremely safe at every point in the game (stun). Great objective control (huge stun box acts as impassable terrain, making in impossible to contest objectives). Nope, I got nothing. Veigar has literally EVERYTHING.

His extremely short range, complete reliance on the stun (unless he's fed enough that a dfg RQ or just RQ one shots), an extremely telegraphed W that requires his stun to hit, and his extreme mana problems (that passive is almost completely useless most of the time). Unless he's leveling up W first he won't have good waveclear, and if he is, his stun and Q will both be weak, meaning he'll be easily dived and murdered (a level 1 stun can be walked out of before his W lands). Late game he can usually kill one person before dying (and if that person has a banshee's veil, zero people killed by him), and his only utility is his box (which you'll be lucky to hit more than 2 people with ever).

...okay? I don't play veigar often; he's completely destroyed by any mobility or range. But I HAVE played him, and as such have figured out some of his main weaknesses. If you really think he's OP, play him for free elo. Either you're on to something and get to Challenger, or you figure out how to actually play vs him.

I think the dude's just salty because he lost to a Veigar in a game. Happens.

everything he does is at a close range, if you play an assassin and just wait for him to use his stun+whatever other skill on something else you can blow him up instantly for example

both qss and banshee shits on him

Oh, so that's why he had a 100% pick/ban rate at worlds!!

Because junglers never gank mid ever.

Not to mention he starts with his Q having already stacked over one hundred AP on him.

He starts with his stun maxed so he can land his big damage.

He starts with his ult.

Yeah, he's got it all. /sarcasm

He has slow movement speed and if they juke his stun he's going to get caught or flash burned. Also like Nasus if he's farm starved he's pretty neutered.

His weakness is you have to listen to his annoying nails on chalkboard ass voice.

They should accentuate this weakness by forcing voice volume to 150% when playing him, as it is his only weakness.

Boots of mobility fix all of these problems. If he's smart, he gets them. Then it's point and click CC and burst.

He has zero mobility options, one single AoE spell that honestly doesn't have the best area of effect and can miss pretty easily, absolutely awful range on his Q and his ult, his only utility comes with his stun, which has a significant cooldown even at max rank. If he's ahead he's hard to stop. If he's behind he's hard to catch up.

He's ALWAYS ahead because it's impossible to deny him

Anyone who outranges him can deny him easily. Brand comes to mind almost immediately, able to use his W to easily punish Veigar anytime he tries to move in for some CS, and the burn will quickly bully him out of lane by reducing his health even more. Veigar caves when you apply early pressure.

You could try to Stashu him.

I'm so glad this is becoming a term. Never forget the Cassiopeia atrocity.

I love Veigar, but he has a lot of flaws. Short range when compared to popular mids, is very slow, even with his passive his mana pool is garbage, bad waveclear because maxing W first will hurt your kill potential, he's extremely predictable, and there is probably a lot more. He can snowball really hard if he gets going, but getting going is the hard part against anyone worth a damn.

no mobilty squishy cds and HE LITERALY ISN'T A PROBLEM

Str8Ace1801 votes

his weakness is going vs him as an AD champ, his ult only scales harder when he's facing AP champs so someone like Zed or Talon should do fine as long as you know how to play it and engage on him when he's on his cool downs

Hex the FenFen1 votes

It is not really a free chalice, his passive only increases his mana regen itself it is not pure mana regen

Get some MR so you don't die when he combos you. Then shoot back and he dies. GG.

He is weak against everything and situationaly very strong. Pretty much any AD mids win against him and any semi mobile mid lane champions. You juke/dodge his stun and you win, simple as that.
