AP Jungle Fizz?
After Runeglaive was introduced, the first thing that I thougth was of using Fizz on the jungle... as an AP assassin (instead of AD tank with Cinderhulk). He is really good. The good side is that he can farm safely on the jungle (if he doesn't suffer counterjungle, of course) while if he were to go mid, he would be constantly harassed and zoned by enemy mages, while at top, bruisers would just dumpster on him and stack magic resistance. At jungle, however, he doesn't suffer any of those things. As long as the enemy isn't a Shaco/Nunu/Lee Sin constantly invading his jungle, he should be okay, and he can prepare for the late game much easier.
That said, one would probably think why use Fizz when we have Nidalee as an AP assassin for jungle. Well, Fizz has a better mid/late game than Nidalee. He is also better at engaging, and can use his ult to initiate teamfights, or to complement the initiation from his tank. He has a lot of AoE damage, too. Nidalee has poking and utility, but Fizz can do all those things that Nidalee can't do, he can also kill tanks due to his % damage and massive burst, something that Nidalee can only dream of doing. Lastly, Fizz doesn't have to buy a Rod of Ages right after purchasing his jungle item, he can go straight up for Zhonya (in fact, he should, as Zhonya is a must for survivability).
I just tried it and had good results. I had problems initially because I built Morellonomicon as a second item instead of Zhonya (and thus I've came to the conclusion that next time I should do Zhonya first). However, at late game, I've managed to get a double kill on their mid laner and top laner, and do massive AoE damage during teamfights, thanks to Runeglaive's passive and Fizz's E. I used
instead of
because on my opinion AP Fizz is less of a duelist than AD Fizz, he already has Zhonya and his E for safety, he doesn't need the damage reduction from the red smite, and should try to burst down his enemy as fast as possible instead of auto attacking. With the blue smite, I had better ganks and an easier time hitting my ultimate. I didn't also used
because with Runeglaive and his W, I was having an very easy time clearing camps.
