A lot of Kat mains were saying that the new Kat ruined her

But I really don't think so. I've been playing her in normals for the past couple of days, and it took some getting used to, but I've gotten the hang of her to the point where I enjoy playing her now. Before, she felt like she was just incredibly boring to play and then suddenly became busted if you knew how to use her right in teamfights, but now she has a better lane phase, she can go for early kills, and she's a hell of a lot more fun to play now than before. She may have some balance things that need to be worked out (I did THAT much damage by jumping onto my opponent with E while they're standing on a dagger at level 2?!), but she's a lot more fun.

she's just different. her damage isn't as easy to pull off since her spin isn't on command but rather requires placement of daggers. the main issue i have is that i feel like the range of spinning with a dagger is shorter than it is so i often dont go in when i should.

I bought her years ago, but I never really started playing her until recently. She's made me really want to pick up mid lane again. One thing that I learned to do from watching Redmercy is to start with a long sword to give good early damage, and in my last game, my opponent (Ryze) didn't play safe at all and I went in level 2 and killed him. After killing him a couple more times because he had no idea how to play safe, he rage quit.

on the other hand haveing daggers on the floor completely zones out your enemy from the potienal damage.

She is broken OP, but she doesn't have a ward jump, so people are feeding more with her now.

The next ward jump they need to remove is LeeSin

Lee's ward jump is vitally important for his playmaking. However, I do think that he's a bit too strong, and his ult's base damage is getting a pretty huge hit next patch. His current ult base damage is 200/400/600. The changes on the PBE are I think 200/300/400.

I don't think she's completely broken. I think she's got a stronger early game and people don't know how to deal with it. Before, her early game was incredibly weak, and was the time when most bad Katarina players would be punished into nonexistence. Now, she can be aggressive and go for kills because she has more casts of her E + the extra damage from Daggers. She effectively has 3 abilities level 2 if she uses them right, and one of those can be cast twice in a fight. That ups to 4 with 1 being able to be cast 3 times in a fight at level 3.

People talk about he being harder to use but I've had way more trouble playing against new Kat than I did with the old one.

She's fairly easy to play against. She can be more aggressive earlier now, so pick someone who can farm from outside of her range and you'll pretty much be fine.

Old kat was easiwr to play and funner to play. Now you have to rely on your laning opponent being a dumbass and running into your daggers, which are pretty easy for skilled opponents to avoid.

Also sucks only having 2 abilities in a rotation not including ult, makes going all in way riskier so you have to get them lower before going in than previous kat.

Even with her only having 2 damaging abilities, the E reset and the passive can extend that out a lot more. If you use the E reset properly, you can damage your opponent with 3 different Shunpos alone, + the Q and daggers from Q and W. When played well, she is a lot stronger now while also having the ability to get solo kills pre-6 easily if her opponent oversteps.
