Hey Riot, since Blue Essence has a very limited amount of uses, why not increase that by having something like the Ward skins be craftable from Blue OR Orange essences? This makes them not useless to people who get shards for champions they already own or for folks who have all champions.
Deep Terror Nami1 votesThey've announced that champion shards or blue essence will be used for level 6/7 Mastery.
Oleandervine1 votesSuch is true, but if you have no interest in going the mastery route, the blue essence is useless.
Fovere1 votesThis is basically their way of saying they couldn't think of a more creative+useful way to utilize blue essence that wouldn't undermine its purpose as a "filler" for the hextech system.
