Why does Ahri have a speed boost on her Q

I get that her early game damage isn't the best, but laning against her it just feels like I can't take advantage of her spells and cooldowns. She uses her main damaging ability, I take magic and true damage from getting hit by the very edge of the orb's hitbox and she gets movement speed to run away so I can't react.

I mean I understand that she trades damage for utility, but she's already one of the most mobile mid laners in the game, or just champions in general.

They just added it in a patch awhile ago. I think its either to help catch up to someone or to have more mobility. I think they want her to be like a fox and be able to move swiftly in fights.

Pretty sure it was added when they changed Charm to not be a damage amp anymore and removed DFG...I may be wrong or remembering incorrectly but I think it was a little while after they did that so I just always assumed there was a correlation.

Because a poke mage must be untouchable while having hard CC and the ways to finish you up with burst damage.

It's so she isn't as reliant on having ult up to be mobile, without it she is just as immobile as brand or malz when ult is down, while not having anywhere near the damage or range to make up for it
