Ornn’s Masterwork Items

I’ve been trying to figure this out. I was playing an Ornn match, and tried to upgrade an item for my midlaner who had both Rabadon’s Deathcap and Luden’s Echo. The upgrade they received was Luden’s Pulse.

Does anyone know how it decides which item it upgrades? Is it random, item slot? There isn’t much clarity when it comes to that passive and when I checked the wiki, I did not see any clarification as to what item gets upgraded should Ornn’s ally have two possible items.

it is either

A: rng

or

B: the first item in their build that can be upgraded

honestly, they need to go back to the old version of that part of his passive, where each player can choose what they want to upgrade. forcing ornn players to have to track down each team mate at varying levels is tedious, since you need them to be in a set range and I think hold still (thus making them a target)

They should make it so when he click on an allie they get an item bar that he usually see. This way they can choose which item they want to upgrade.

Pretty sure it's item slot. Whatever one is in the first slot (or closest to it) is the one that gets upgraded.

the problem i have with it is Ornn can troll and just refuse to do the upgrades. Had one do it to me a while ago

I don't know how it chooses what item to upgrade but one thing I can say is Ludens Pulse is awesome, reminds me of old AP items. I honestly wish I had more Ornns on my team.

Its the first item they build. Tested it with my Duo when I was spamming Ornn after his update. Item order in your inventory doesnt matter and you cant choose. Whatever they rushed first is the item the game thinks you want upgraded.

When the "rework" still was in testing, i read somewhere that it works on an intern priority system.
