In case you missed it on Bone Plating

11/6 PBE Update: Eclipse Leona, Coven Camille & Lissandra, Pajama Guardians, & More!

It has taken the place of Chrysalis on the 3rd row of Resolve runes. It also looks like it’s supposed to receive an effect change that adds some favor to health builders like tanks and fighters over other classes...ether that or it’s a typo as it only says +0 at the moment.

Live:

After taking damage from an enemy champion, for 3 seconds, the next 3 spells or attacks you receive from the same enemy champion deal 15 − 40 (based on level) less damage.

PBE:

After taking damage from an enemy champion, the next 3 spells or attacks you receive from them deal 25-50 (+0 of your bonus health) less damage. Duration: 1.5 seconds Cooldown: 45 seconds

Thoughts?

Interesting. I thought they were getting rid of Bone Plating altogether. A stronger resistance over a shorter period that (potentially) scales with your bonus health can really screw up combo-based mages and assassins like LeBlanc or Akali, but the removal of Chrysalis makes it less attractive for most squishy carries that would be laning against that sort of enemy. Unflinching would probably be the go-to option if a midlaner was taking Bone Plating for that reason.

It's obviously geared more towards tanks, but tanks are already good against burst damage. It won't make tanks unkillable, but enemies are generally trying to avoid dumping their combo on a tank.

I actually really like it in that row, bc they're all defensive options for different situations. One is just scaling def, one is good against poke, and one is good against all-in. It makes sense to me.

Just why...

Its removal was one of the good things about the changes.

Its used by everyone and their mother, it makes resolve too strong in lane, why not just remove it.

Bonus health you say?

I would like it to be more based off of health so its not good for trading early and less attractive for champions that are not tanky.

1.5 seconds doesn't seem nearly long enough.

My proposal for new balanced Overgrowth: Get 100 HP at 10m, + %5 total HP.

The wording sounds a bit...interesting.

After taking damage from an enemy champion, the next 3 spells or attacks you receive from them deal 25-50 (+0 of your bonus health) less damage.

The bolded part makes it sound like Bone Plating will now only be effective against a single champion, instead of champion attacks in general.

I'm not sure about the health scaling. The effect only works against a single opponent, so it's clearly made for the laning phase rather than teamfights. Maybe they're trying to make it less onesided (very strong early, useless late), though I don't know if that will help.

Unless they're making it for divers, who are kinda tanky, but still focus on one target at a time. In that case I guess it can work both ways, early and late. Juggernauts might prefer Second Wind, for more health regen.

Right now I'm more interested about the Shield Bash rune, for champs like Urgot and Morde. Especially Morde with his passive, may be able to keep it always on, depending on how it will work, although not for a lot of damage.

There is a 100% chance that the +0 is a placeholder for a yet undecided number

looks good, but what about the other two rows?

where are our choices? shield bash and font of life are useless except for an incredibly small pool of champions, and overgrowth got trashed even worse than before.

boneplating is now more feasable compared to second wind, but all the other runes in that tree are fixed for most champions.

1,5 seconds is too short imho

Definitely happy to see Bone Plating stay instead of leaving like the plan was earlier in PBE but I don’t want to see Chrysalis go since I think it’s a perfectly fine rune.

Could we just remove the useless Font of Life rune and place the Shield Bash there. That way the top branch of the resolve tree will have Demolish, Shield Bash, and Bone Plating.

Resolve secondary row is trash. Sad to see shield bashing put on the third row and not on second.

The duration is rather low, but it makes it much better against burst, which is fine.
