A theory about how to get S level ranking easier

The current system determine your rank by how well you perform compare to other players playing the same champion in the same role. This means playing champions that are not commonly played/in the role that they aren't commonly played in will give you a higher chance of getting a higher rank.

For example, Sion is mostly played in the top lane, but if you are very good at Sion , you can play him in the jgsummoner 11 and still do very good(especially with item 1409 buff last patch). Since Sion top generally do very good and Sion jg usually do worse, it will be easier for you to win a S rank.

I have got S onMaokai in the jg summoner 11 and Zilean mid.

(don't play champion in a role they doesn't work in tho.)

I've gotten several S rankings with Illaoi support. The same overall performance as Nautilus or Leona support gets me A-.

I'm inclined to believe the OP's assessment.

Also, if you play a champion that was recently weak and just got buffed, it is easier to get an S.

I just played a few games of Swain and got S's in all of them with mediocre KDA, and I think it's because he had around a 38% winrate last patch, however, with his buff this patch he's actually good, but the average for his stats is still low since there hasn't been much data from this patch yet.
