Ziggs just sucks to play right now.
Everyone's damage is more reliable, you spend the entire game thinking about what would have happened if you played a different mage. His q sucks so bad right now, it needs a bit of radius love

Ziggs will always be bad. Low mobility, almost no CC. The only thing he adds to a team is damage. Except other champions with mobility and cc can bring just as much damage as he can. He's supposed to trade mobility and CC for tons of damage, but if they scale it too high, it would be obnoxious to play against. Nothing will fix him short of a rework. His only saving grace is his ridiculous waveclear that can be used to stall games out far longer than they should, but again, this is nothing that another champion with mobility and cc couldn't do. So he has no clear identity. They tried to change that with his ability to blow up towers, trying to make him into this super wave clearing pushing and sieging character. It's just not very effective in the meta.
Ziggs has been consistently viable for the past few patches, especially now. His damage is (again) consistent, and his whole kit is based around long range sustained damage and pushing waves/towers. He isn't a high damage champion killer like Karthus or Leblanc, he has other strengths and damage isn't his priority at all times. Personally Ziggs is in a godly spot right now because towers are so flimsy I usually push to inhibitor at around 20 minutes by MYSELF while other Zeds, Twisted Fates, or Leblancs go and roam.
his Q might be the easiest skillshot to dodge in the game
It's easy to dodge, which is why skilled Ziggs players take advantage of the fact that it does explode on impact. Aim for the base of towers, walls, and minions, and it will explode dealing the AOE damage to champions. High mobility does counter him though, which is why he has a hard time against Zed, Kat, etc.
lmao. it certainly is easy to dodge but it has so much range hes annoying as hell when ur trying to back and he keeps throwing them at you. like jeezus ziggs let me back. but yeah i agree the range is too short. the they should make it like a mini ult where it highlights a circle it falls on.
Didn't he just get buffed.
Didn't he just get buffed.
His winrate stayed almost exactly the same because while some things got buffed, his ult. can no longer 1-shot waves. That was a sure-fire way to get a CS lead when backing or stop a push.
he got so much zoning control, though. Maybe he's not the 'best' fighter, but he serves well as a pusher, kinda like heimerdinger. Ziggs got the range advantage but then again all range mages have to land skillshots. If you play ziggs, work around him as more of a poke pusher rather than a bursty mage.

Heimer was a good comparison. Champions like this will never be allowed to be strong competitively, because if they were, it would be busted.
No, if his q gets a radius buff then he'll get nerfed instantly, his q hurts so much early game if the ziggs is smart and hits minions+you with it, he's not a fighter, he's not a battle mage or a good backline poke mage, he's one of the best at the job he does, pushing/stalling. enemy trying to siege a tower? wave clear. (especially lower elo, they won't dive you.) people pushing a tower you're not under? ult the wave til you get there. ziggs is a pain to play against, he does great poke damage and helps a lot in teamfights, yes some mages are better, some good xerath snipes or a tank shredding vel'koz can make a difference, but vel'koz and xerath are horrible at taking down towers while ziggs already blew up your nexus
I LOVE ziggs. He's my go to mid. Once you build Morellos+Rylai's+45% cdr, there's no catching, and there's no escaping you.
Ziggs probably works in a team built around him, one meant to apply constant and obnoxious lane pressure. Think Tryndamere top and Sivir bot. Add in a jungler who is strong at dueling, and your lane pressure will allow your jungler to safely invade and cripple the enemy jungler. I think this would work pretty damn well, because if the enemy jungler is so pressured, he wouldn't be able to gank your lanes, which would be exposed from pushing. It all synergizes well. Someone should try it.
ziggs isnt bad, but the high cooldown on his W really needs to be lower
pick him against a Yasuo and you'll never say those words again xD
I wouldn't say he completely sucks but he's also not where he needs to be, especially late game. There's a lot of recent feedback on him here.
Ziggs is balanced. He seems bad compared to all the OP mids.
Ziggs is almost more of a splitpush mid laner now. Good zone CC, passive chunks towers, EXECUTES TOWERS AT 1/3 OF THEIR HP.
Ziggs days as the siege king died when he got so much competition
