This is why I think this game is still alive.

The number 1 reason is because it's free.

Ok now that we got that out of the way, here's some good reasons.

2: It's a place to go to talk to friends to enjoy a free game together. 3: Champion releases. Even though the meme that riot will give every champion a dash, the champion's signature move is what makes it interesting to see what riot will bring to the table. 4: Seasonal changes 5: skins 6: streamers

Well that's about all I can think of.

I'll be real here.

The reason League is still alive is because you guys complaining are the screaming minority.

The silent majority of us are quietly playing the game, and enjoying it. I play nearly a thousand games a season, and I don't see the same player more than twice like EVER. On the boards you see the same names over and over making new complaints, saying the game is dying.

The game isn't dying, it's just that the majority of us are playing the game, rather than posting on the boards about how much we enjoy it to counter those who dislike it. Most players of games don't use boards/forums, in general.

What makes you think I'm complaining? I find what i THINK are faults with the game. I'll admit that I have posts about balance and I personally hated season 8 with runes reforged, but I like the game overall.

It's a love hate with me, I love seeing new champions, I love seeing what changes they'll come out with, I love skins(some skins), and I love certain classes like mages and ADC. I just hate burst meta is all.

But I didn't mean to come off as complaining with this post. This post was addressing both riot and those who like to like to say this is a dying game.

I'm sorry, it's been a rough day and my tone came off sounding harsher than intended with the choice of words I used. I wasn't necessarily meaning you specifically, so much as those who are posting daily about how "league is dying". Just came out badly worded, cloudy head.

These are reasons for almost any game to stay alive. The only somewhat unique thing is the free to play model.

pirate101 has all of those going for it and it is pretty much in the grave.

It could be any of:

  • Very high quality of content, sans a few rare slips

  • Reliable and non-buggy, outside of uncontrollable network bullshit

  • Very well-balanced. Think about it for a moment: here we bitch when a champion has a winrate of 50.9%, while a lot of pvp games have characters or builds with 60%+ winrates, plus untested balanace patches every 6 months.

  • Completely free and not P2W in any way, no bullshit like new champs being cash shop only for months, ect.

  • Constant free content drops and free updates - they dont need to do that.
