Oh you are finally on the edge of getting out of F'ing bronze? Let me match you with (Pick any 2-4):

  1. The AFKer

  2. The DC'er

  3. The Feeder

  4. The "platinum/Diamond" "smurf" who will "carry hard guys I swear"

  5. The 4 v 5 "teamfighters" in the middle of lane/river/our jungle/enemy jungle/anywhere EXCEPT under a f'ing tower"

  6. The wandering idiot that tries to split push, and sits in lane farming during teamfights/when enemy team is heading for him/ignores the 10000 bajillion pings.

  7. The "chasers"....who run after the 1/2 health tank, straight into the entire enemy team/chase the last enemy while winions eat our nexus.

  8. The single file run to die against the entire enemy team in Drag/Baron pit.

I swear it's like Rito watches promo matches for their own amusement or something....we're probably a lunchroom stream.

PoopLoopist1 votes

not saying its technically wrong to go get that farm, but after a certain number of times wouldnt you just write it off and stay with your team?

Thryale1 votes

but see, when you do that, nothing happens. for 10 friggin minutes. Everyone will do that awkward dance hinting at starting something, then backing off over and over again yet never quite leaving themselves vulnerable enough to engage on yourself.

PoopLoopist1 votes

if nothing happens it is because either your team comp is incorrect or nobody on your team possesses the skills nessesary to make plays, in other words you are at your true elo.

Thryale2 votes

just because you 'should' be there doesn't mean you 'want' or 'enjoy' being there.

I lack a crap ton of mechanical skills, but I've learned so much about the game that playing at my elo is frustrating simply because I can actually recognize the mistakes, but am incapable of acting on them. It leads to a vicious spiral and ultimately ruins the experience. Couple that with the fact that when I do do well, it's usually because my opponents just suck more than me, not me actually getting better at the game.

PoopLoopist1 votes

You aren't alone there. There are DROVES of people who fit that description in silver. as far as improving mechanical skills, the only advise i can offer is to practice practice practice, and try to make plays that you know are possible, but that you aren't confident in your ability to make. the only way to get confident at making those plays is to try them. and yes, you will mess up a LOT and get owned a LOT but eventually, your mechanics might improve, provided you have the hand eye coordination required at your given elo to make the plays.

LordGeovanni3 votes

or maybe its because most people in the game are greedy fuks and dont realise you need tanks just as much as carries but no one wants to stick out their neck to tank because its thankless and not likely that your allies follow up on your engage.

PoopLoopist1 votes

yeah ive run into the tanks that will never fight or engage for fear of DIEING OMG as well. and in those games its hard to carry for sure, but not impossible. Your problem might lie in your champion pool and or what champions you most often pick. If your champion is one that relies heavily on others to perform, you might consider choosing another in order to carry.

maikokk8 votes

no, if your team is bad enough to let that happen over and over again then you are losing the game regardless. take the path that is most likely to lead to victory... in cases where your team is so incompetent that shit like this happens repeatedly then the only viable path to victory is farming to godhood.

Much better than watch your team feed them 4 kills and 12 assists. But what do i know. ive only climbed out of silver 3 times now, working on my 4th currently. and no, not on this account. But i honestly don't care if you believe me or not, some people are unwilling to accept answers they don't like.

If i had a nickel for every time ive lost a game so that top lane or adc can get 30 cs i would be a very wealthy man.

Chuck Charles1 votes

after a certain number of times, usually twice. you do. you are right. but what usually happens is you arrive. and they you see they are tower diving. now this may have worked the first time if you were there. but now you are behind 5+ kills and maybe 5k gold even. there is little to no chance your team wins any fight if they tower dive and are behind, but your team does it anyway and you probably lose anyway. Sometimes you can win and turn it by being there. and it is usually your best chance.

but in my experience, if this is happening you have a high chance of losing anyway. if you have a team that doesn't even understand the game enough that getting exp/gold, pushing waves for lane control is more important that kills than you have a huge uphill battle.

BluePolarizer1 votes

lol ok, you made a bad choice. In plat, I often tell our ADC (since its 90% of the time the ADC that does this): do not farm that. There is a teamfight coming up at _____. They are almost certainly going to get the objective/dive if we don't have all 5. We need you.

Goes anyways and acts surprised when sure enough the enemy barons/we get engaged on under tower.

You don't get to pick the fights all the time. Not if they are pushing mid inner while their mid outer is still up, for instance. You have to defend certain objectives at all cost (baron, dragon 5 and mid inner/inhib) because losing those is a death sentence in higher elo games.

Chuck Charles1 votes

unless you are against a hard engage comp you can wait the 35 seconds it will take someone to fast clear a tower farm if it is that massive of a wave. you do not want to waste 3 + waves of exp and gold ever. if you are against a team with hard engage and they are goruped you never leave your team duh. but if they dont have hard engage you are free to wait it out and siege. plus if your team has good wave clear if they tower dive they should be taking aggro.

Can you super size that for me?

#9. All of the above... :P

I've had something like a 20% win rate in ranked since placement. My team always gets thoroughly crushed! I can't believe people who have such terrible decision making; and such poor fundamentals even play ranked. :P

TroyTheUnconquer1 votes

you want to know how badly I've gotten messed up thanks to my team mates?

My actual skill level is around a gold player i think (i'm presuming because I've played with several gold player's and i go about even with them anytime we play)

mainly thanks to the people i've played with, (sometimes i was just having a bad day tho) i started off my ranked in Silver V (i only won 3 games my entire promo's)

I've been demoted to Bronze II

The matches are so easy in Bronze II tend to carry the game no matter who I'm playing as, or i feed someone who carry's the game when I'm the support (5/5/20 Sona what up) BUT, Because i don't play a lot of ranked, and when i do i have one of those bloody people you mentioned i haven't been able to climb and have become so saddened by my time in rank i haven't played it in months

magic pole3 votes

meh, if you're really gold you;ll shit all over bronze and can win many times even 4v5.

your sona should be 5/0/20

TroyTheUnconquer1 votes

lol the reason for my 5 deaths is because i purposely W'E'Q (purple, green, blue) in to save my ADC even though i knew i wouldn't be able to get away haha

and normally i do shit on most bronze, played top lane... my lane was the last tower to fall and the only lane to actually take a tower until the 25 minute mark when I backdoor'd another tower, and i was a Susan going against a Teemo if remember correctly

magic pole1 votes

well theres your problem. blaming your teammates and also you don't influence the rest of the map. as nasus u should be farming til about 20 minutes (400+ stacks), then start taking towers with your team.

TroyTheUnconquer1 votes

i don't particularly try to blame my team mates that are doing decent... but when the fed af adc runs away from what shoulda been a easy 2v2... or when I'm sitting there fighting the fed Xin Zhao and end up taking him down to like 100 health before he kills me, and the full health yasuo sits in the bush waiting for me to die before jumping in? yeah in those cases i may just be pressed to rage at/blame my teammates, but meh.

and i don't play nasus the way others play nasus, i do get my stacks but i build him as a life steal adc who hits hard and hits group hard thanks to the wonderful AOE from hydra, which allows me to usually destroy my opponents in lane and take the tower pretty early... once my towers taken i push the lane pretty far and then start roaming so my tower doesn't fall while I'm helping another lane.

I've actually had several games where my team was like 20 kills with the enemy team at 50 kills, but guess who won? we did because we prioritized objectives.

Also js that taking my tower incredibly early gives my entire team a gold advantage. which benefit's them in there own lane :)

i actually have started a new account... but I've spent so much money and time on my main that i just don't play ranked at all anymore until i get a decent team up that will play with me, plus my internet is so crappy and i haven't had it at all for the past month and a half i currently have 5 20 minute wait times on my account :( but meh, i'll get over it eventually

ChummyXRay1 votes

Hopefully I don't come off as a jerk, but after reading a bunch of comments in the thread, I decided to look over your's. I looked up your profile and matches to see what's up and got an idea. Ranked sucks, it really does. A lot of it feels like luck and praying your team can keep it together. Another big part is carrying your own weight. You said you tend to carry, but your solo queue match history begs to differ. Now, I wasn't there, I don't know what went down, but seems to me that maybe you're exacerbating the issue at hand by assuming you're better than you are.

Like I said, I hope I don't seem like a dick for replying the way I did, but I just wanted to put some thoughts out there.

TroyTheUnconquer2 votes

haha, not coming off as a jerk at all don't worry about that.

and yeah, my solo Que match history is complete crap, but i have an excuse i swear I'm playing off my phone 80% of the time and the lag spikes are insane (i've hit 10,000 ping before server changes just because my service decides to completely die on me)

I have honestly never went below 200 ping on most games i play

the vast majority of people i play with irl and know play with an actual mouse, i'm on a laptop playing league with the built in mouse

add that with my computer falling apart and completely random restarts every 4-5 hours on a bad day, my general performance probably aren't very good, but i do my best to not feed during my lag spike and i generally either win lane or atleast my lane does better then everyone's elses in the vast majority of games i play.

Also,

The fast majority of solo Que games i play are me practicing new champs/builds

or every now and then me deciding to heavily troll (zac troll best troll)

Like next time i play MF i'mma try AP just to see how it works out, i honestley love non-mobafire build and i only look at them when i'm on a honestly hopeless champ i've never played before (malphite shudders)

of course i have complete crap games i'm not gonna lie, but maybe we can play a game one day so you can see if i'm halfway decent like i say i am :)

also thank you for being polite instead of others who would have gotten salty at me saying i'm a good player and probally would have ended in a cussing match haha :)

ChummyXRay1 votes

Ah, thanks for clearing that up for me.

That does make it more understandable. I had a buddy from Israel that played on NA servers. Just like you he'd play constant 200+, how he ever had 1 okay game I'll never understand. I can't tell you not to take that connection to ranked either because him and I duo'd for a long time, even with his computer having blue screen issues on top of everything.

Check this nifty little program out for in-game builds if you want, https://github.com/dustinblackman/Championify. Install very quick and replaces Riot's less than optimal prebuild with the Highest Win and Most Frequently Built builds. Covers all positions a champ plays too, whether top, jungle, mid, etc.

I'm definitely be willing to play, man. Besides class, I'm often free and my name on the forums matches the account I actively play.

Thanks to you too, man. Was afraid I was too harsh and that this wouldn't turn out so nice.

TroyTheUnconquer1 votes

haha thanks for the program, i'll probally check it out when i have a better internet connection, it sounds useful :)

ihaveapotion2 votes

I spam ping because people dont respond to one ping, i have had so many times pinging even a line of the path a jungler is going to take (because i know the path he takes because i actually have one eye on the map contrary to the rest of the team who has both eyes on the enemy teemo) and people still dieing to that respective jungler's gank. So these days i feel like pinging the line of the jungler is no longer enough, i need to trigger someone to get out of their tunnel vision with irritative doorbell ringing.
