Some first thoughts on Galio
Played a handful of bot games on PBE just to get a feel for him, here's what I have so far
-
He does a lot of damage with a handful of AP items.
and you'll chunk squishies pretty hard while being fairly durable. His scaling is great and he has low enough cooldowns that he makes for a fairly potent sustained threat. He feels a lot like a Juggernaut with his telegraphed moves and high damage, so odds that I'll play him on live are quite high. -
Galio seems to have a lot of flexibility in his builds. Full tank, AP bruiser and full AP poke/nuke all seem to be strong. He also makes great use of a handful of keystones; I really think he might have an option in every single tree. (DFT, TLD, SRS, and the new Stoneborn all work great on him)

Passive is 100% of your total AD, so anything you buy will increase it. Seems to be specifically for
being a better option on him, especially with his new synergy with Sheen items thanks to passive. Very possible that AD bruiser Galio becomes an option. -
Q can proc Thunderlord's on its own; if someone is hit by the circle, it counts as 2 hits, so one tick of the DOT will apply TLD very quickly. Good for poke.
-
W feels kind of mediocre with the self slow given that the taunt only goes up to 1.5 seconds, but the potential for some 8-ish seconds of damage reduction more than makes up for it.
-
is a very balanced, all-rounder build. About 190 in both resists, 3.5k health, and a lot of damage to boot + full CDR. I think this will be the baseline build, with some deviations depending on whether you want to be even bulkier or if you want to go all-in for damage. -
R is pretty shit for making clutch saves; I expect it to be used more for follow-up initiation or for VERY quick reactive play than rescuing a squishy champion, but it'll be great for assisting juggernauts and other tanky duelists in fights. Gives him great synergy with divers, too, especially Warwick who already has damage reduction in his own kit.

Enchanted best skin
I might actually consider playing him even if he's not considered a juggernaut. He plays smooth, feels very strong, and he compliments my extreme hatred for mages very well. Overall I'd give this rework 4.5 Lincoln Logs out of 5; I still wish he kept his shield/heal. GJ Riot.
