This Galio hype has been blow way out of proportion and it needs to stop
Let's clear up a few misconceptions:
-
Galio will always have a far weaker early game and lane than he had before. His base damages are lower, and his W isn't nearly as effective.
-
Galio has to prioritize AP in lane if he wants to approach that big endgame mage damage, which leaves him more vulnerable and squishy as well as more vulnerable to getting ganked and pushed out of lane than any other time after his rework.
-
Tank Galio will be hitting you for less. A lot less.
-
If a Galio is actually fed enough to go fulll mage build with a Rabadon's and the whole 9, the onus is really on your team for feeding and having a terrible early game.
This is not another case of Cho'Gath, Galio is legitimately weaker right now than he was before. He is more like old Galio now. Yes his damage might get big if he can build full AP and mage but his road there is a lot rougher than it's been in recent times.
