and why is a bronze 2 player even matched to play against a gold 4 player in Ranked?
Kai Guy3 votesBronze 2 Misha Demidov duoing with you is part of this issue. When you duo they Add Extra MMR to the match average for your team to account for premade synergy. Duoing is poorly implemented by riot as far as giving MM room to build fair games.
As in Mishas history they have 8 games with you I am fairly confidant in the claim you two are duoing that game.
The gold D4 player is at silver MMR going off his match average, not just your game but overall that's his trend. Riot has it set so demoting a Tier is massively longer gap then demoting a division, Last I checked it had to be what I assume represents an entire class interval. (drop into division 5 MMR prior to being demoted.) And they also give you a warning message prior.
In prior seasons youd see some folks near that range on the verge of demotion. Its not so cut and dry This year. There is Positional MM where your MMR is adjusted by role. Riot got rid of Positional ques but never removed positional MM. So you see a spike in tier average change from the Gold players Main role to one he is shit at + there a solid 6 game loss streak eating into his MMR balance prior to your match.
The gold player is Silver every other year, low silver I might add. So odds are they got a bit of luck and also some of this seasons Ranked Snafu gave them a leg into gold mmr but now their inability to play at that level has sunk them back to the MMR range they operated at for the last 5 years.
This stuff is really easy to spot when you just study up on MMR systems buddy.

The damage is misleading. What you dont know, is how the Syndra player completely destroyed the game by going i believe 0/8 first and feeding khazix like absolutely crazy early game 15 mins into she had died like 6 times. Same for master yi, who was horrendous and just kept dying like theres no tomorrow.
Because she pumps out some damage late game while its already over doesnt mean much.

Despite feeding she still held 5 cs/m and if she somehow came back from 0/6 to the most dmg in your team, pretty nice.
Game would be perfectly winnable if you had competent scaling adc like Jinx or Sivir or Xayah or of course jngler. You should just stop playing support, unless you have duo partner, idk why are you torturing yourself Linda.
Sona Ping2 votesThis is because in many games, people have a number that rates their average level of play. Players can raise or lower this rating by playing games and by who they win and lose against. LoL uses a system like this and uses it for matchmaking while it also has the system influence the league system with the LP and climbing divisions, although it seems very hard to descend in League, probably because getting demoted feels bad. Your opponents have either climbed up to or fell down to the rating of this game.
Uraraka1 votesThis is how matchmaking works and you simply have to dodge if you have such a team. Don't really listen to consolation comments like mmr is same, because there is no way to prove it and because it is invisible, just rely on visible metrics. Because you play supp, I guess you get very low queue time and use first and even second dodge if needed.
