Kindred is completely destroying the diversity in the jungle.

Riot tried so hard to make a marksman viable in the jungle that they overloaded her kit with mobility, slows, sustain, and insane early damage. I have seen videos of kindred 1v1ing the enemy jungler who is 1 level higher than her in melee range. In high elo, she is pretty much pick/ban. The only junglers that can deal with her are nidalee and graves, both of which are also quite overloaded.

While I agree that Kindred is strong, calling them overloaded is a bit extreme. They probably had the simplest Kit out of all the 2015 champs.

The recent nerf in 6.9 lowered Kindred's winrate by 4% since it hit their early game dueling quite hard. MSI is still on the 6.8 Patch so ya expect a ton of Kindreds, however now on 6.9 they aren't as much of a balance issue. Are they still annoying? Yes. Will they still need some adjustments? Maybe.

I fought against a jungle Kindred as jungle Poppy yesterday. She was pretty annoying and kept trying to counterjungle me (because of her hunt passive) but otherwise she wasn't impossible to deal with.

"Obviously not, Kindred is super invincible SUPER DUPER OP champ that has infinite sustain and takes 0 damage from anything while deleting anyone in -0.5s!"

MunchCrunchLunch3 votes

no thats because of bloodrazor mainly. kindred the only bloodrazor champ with 50+ winrate

Igotlazy16 votes

I think people really underestimate how brutal the Q nerf was to Kindred's early game. Being able to Spam Q 4-5 times within an ~8 second period is what made their early dueling so potent. They could weave autos and Qs together in order to maximize damage. They can't do that as effectively anymore until level 7-8. Devouerer (and Bloodrazor to an extent) only really helped Kindred in the mid-late game, not the early where they thrived.

Astôlfo8 votes

THANK YOU, PEOPLE DON'T GET THAT.

GrReaper961 votes

Yeah her early game Q feels terrible now actually i cant even clear camps properly anymore

Warwick poor, forgotten wolf

Thumpin1 votes

That's because Kindred is primarily a marksman. They not only value armor penetration which goes well with Bloodrazor, they can actually afford to build it. Most other Bloodrazor champs can't really build much armor penetration while actually staying alive due to their melee, all-in kits (Shyv, Yi, Jax). Once Bloodrazor is buffed Kindred will probably be nerfed once more but as they currently stand Kindred is balanced at the moment.

Keti1 votes

It's also worth noting they're already slated for further nerfs, likely due to the buffs bloodrazor is receiving in 6.9.

and yeah, it's also really hard to call a champion overloaded when said champion has a 1 second slow as their only form of CC, in fact beyond the ult which can benefit the other team if misused or outplayed, kindred is mostly a worse vayne lol.

Imperatricis1 votes

she got nerfed? I honestly don't even notice it, in the games I've played that had kindreds, she still waltzes into enemy jungle willynilly and 1v2 both the jungler and midlaner, its so stupid

SwapShadows13 votes

kindred is complete cancer.

9 out of 10 ganks she literally 1v1's the laner without any help.

Spaceman5pff15 votes

Incredible that a champion intended to have powerful earlygame dueling ACTUALLY wins duels early!

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

she was suposed to have a late game carry feel so why is a late game champion good early game...

Tobias Brackner7 votes

Wait really? I found that she was strong early game w/ tools to keep her relevant late game.

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

Her % health damage stacking is incredibly powerful for late game her tools she has helps her survive in the jungle as a squishy adc and the ult is so she can be useful for the team if shes behind while also letting her stall fights that she would other wise get insta bursted but then again we know little of what riot wants her to be

Tobias Brackner8 votes

It is a powerful late game tool but she has short range and extremely limited maneuverability w/o magic circle. In teamfights I often find myself on the edges trying to get in random AA and flip dmg instead of COMPLETELY FACE MELT of other Marksmen.

Saixos12 votes

She can't have a late game carry feel because of her incredibly short range. She's decent late game if she gets stacks, but getting stacks requires her to do well early game. She's rewarded with doing well early game by not falling off as hard as some others, but if she doesn't do well early then she's not really that great later on at all.

Astôlfo8 votes

Exactly, thank you! So many people don't get this, and they just whine "OMG SO OP".

GrReaper966 votes

Wait logic in a QQ thread? How dare you!

Surge067 votes

As a Kindred player, I've had much bigger impacts early game than late game.

Astôlfo5 votes

Uh, no. She's supposed to have a stronger early because unless she gets her Hunts, which she won't be able to without the said stronger early, she is absolutely trash in late game. Literally non-existent trash.

Keti1 votes

maybe pre nerf, but now her early dueling and chasing power is quite gimped.

YCitizenSnipsY1 votes

Are you just salty that her ult counters Zeds?

Worldwyrm13 votes

"Slows"

You mean the single slow and only cc she has?

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

It's also the majority of her DPS early-mid game.

Igotlazy11 votes

No it's not. The Q + Auto weaving and W will do way more to a single target than the E. The base damage is low, the scaling is pathetic, and 5% of a targets maximum health equals 50-100 damage in the early-mid.

Astôlfo8 votes

Uh, the slow itself does almost no damage. The proc on the third hit is what does it. And the majority of her DPS is from her Q. What are you smoking?

Beldair1 votes

I know right...

Her best damage is W/Q combo.

Since she can spam that devestating Q.

Personally, i feel that her marks are practically useless. Her passive doesn't really have any strong stat boost for it to be all that needed. Hence why I see most Kindreds ignore the jungle marks.

Astôlfo1 votes

Eh, the marks help tremendously in late game since it's basically a super boosted BOTRK passive. With enough Hunts, she can melt just about anyone including tanks fairly quickly.

There is only one supporter, Nep2une. His fervent defense of Kindred might make you think there is a large crowd that actually enjoys fighting her bullshit.

GrReaper961 votes

+1 to the haters side it is

Eedat2 votes

Kindred is definitely different, thats for sure. I think Kindred could be brought into line with some number adjustments. I'm not talking about just damage numbers either, although they do need a bit of a hit. I feel her slow needs to be lowered and the radius of Wolf's Frenzy should be lowered as well.

Side note, I wou.d agree Nidalee is overloaded for sure, but I wouldn't say Graves is. At least not at the same level as Nid and Kindred. 'Overloaded' jungle kits can be brought into balance though, even if it takes awhile to figure it out......

Case in point: Elise

Blacknemesist2 votes

Elise is still very strong and is one of the most balanced jungle champions in the point that her weaknesses and strengths are evident, her power comes from ganking and not farming and late-game she still has uses but she is not strong all game like kindred or offers an ultimate that is BS and doest heal from WALKING!! Healing from walking!! That is so stupid!! Healing from getting hits? Sure. Healing from monsters killed? Sure. Healing from walking and preforming 1 auto at range? Stupid.

The champion design team only bring new BS to the table, is it a wonder every new champ comes as super op in one way or the other?!?

Astôlfo9 votes

The ultimate that prevents anyone from dying and heals everyone including the enemy is apparently BS. People also apparently don't know how to walk out of a circle.

And you sort of forget, they have to walk around a good bit to get a minor heal. Soooo...

Nice fails.

Blacknemesist2 votes

Of course is not BS whats not to like when you are winning a fight and that "thing" comes down giving you time to equalize the health bars again?

And since when is walking a resource that needs to be replenished? Its not like it goes on cd preventing you from building stacks from walking. Meanwhile other healing effects come at a price. And if the heal is so minor then explain why she is one of the best sustain junglers?

Please enlighten us with your bronze IV knowledge.

Astôlfo4 votes

So, let's see. Forgot about the fact both teams can still hit each other, check. Forgot about the fact all living players and things are healed at the end, check. Forgot about the fact people can be pulled into/knocked out of said AoE zone, check. Forgot about the fact it takes good understanding to use and not just completely fuck the teamfight up, check.

Did I ever say walking was a resource that needs to be replenished or has a cooldown? Nope, but... See, you walk. By moving around. As in, actually needing to replenish the 100 stacks by moving around. The heal you also get is minor. And please, do tell about all the other healing effects that come at a cost. Lee, Nasus, Udyr, Olaf, Warwick, Aatrox, the Vampirism mastery, tons of items, so on and so forth. Yes, such price.

Uh, she's not even close to one of the best sustain junglers. She has decent sustain. Best sustain junglers would be champs like WW, Aatrox, Yi, Nunu, etc. Please stomp smoking.

And considering you're Unranked, have a win rate of 35%, and a kill participation of 38%, the irony is hilarious. But sure, do enlighten me with your Wood 10 knowledge.

;)

**Did I ever say walking was a resource that needs to be replenished or has a cooldown? ** Did I? I said exactly the oposite.

See, you walk. By moving around. As in, actually needing to replenish the 100 stacks by moving around. Good to know how walking works, I thought this was stand still contest game /s You naturally need to more around meaning you don't need to go out of your way to get the heal.

The heal you also get is minor. And please, do tell about all the other healing effects that come at a cost. Lee, Nasus, Udyr, Olaf, Warwick, Aatrox, the Vampirism mastery, tons of items, so on and so forth. Yes, such price.

Lee - it is a skill. If you use it for healing you spend a gap-closing ability. Nasus, Warwick, Aatrox - Those champions have healing because their kits are trash? Without healing they wouldnt even be able to survive in lane. Udyr - He has healing in a defensive stance. Olaf - His healing comes from a skill, spends mana and has a cd.

Masteries and items are acessible to any champion so there is no point even mentioning them.

Best sustain junglers would be champs like WW, Aatrox, Yi, Nunu, etc. You need to compare junglers on the same power tier. Sure Nunu has the best healing for almost free but what Nunu can do does not even come close to what kindred can.

And considering you're Unranked, have a win rate of 35%, and a kill participation of 38%, the irony is hilarious. Please do look back at the stats and see my masteries and items builds. Its called experimenting with crap. Also notice the number of champions I play that i dont even know how to play. Of those 20 games 1 was aram 3 urf so 16 on SR. On those 16 games i play 11 champions.

She gets healed by it and the enemy doesn't. You are defending her most unlikable parts of her kit like a fanatic. I assume you've been playing her quite a bit?

I'm aware. What good does that do you when she is constantly healing and cannot be killed? Your bullshit champ is going to be nerfed and rightly so.

Astôlfo1 votes

Man, the salt is real. She is not constantly healing at all. Did you even read her kit? And for someone that apparently cannot be killed, she sure has a lot of deaths in just about any high-tier/LCS/MSI/whatever games she's in.

and here I thought Kindred was meant to be good in the early game.

Beldair1 votes

I have destroyed a Kindred jg as Sejuani, Shyvana, J4, and Skarner jg.

You just have to know her weakness and exploit it.

Nyhver1 votes

It's more of an issue of the top picks being blatantly better in most, (if not every) situation than the other junglers, it's not specific to Kindred, or Graves, or Nidalee, it's the fact that any of the top champs will become FOTM/OP in their respective roles due to the fact that they do most of what others do better quite simply

In other words, Lee Sin never removed other junglers from being jungle picks either, not completely, it was only partly true and such a statement doesn't have a very holistic view
