Commence the debate. Do you need a Marksman in Bottom Lane if you already have one elsewhere?

The reason adcs go bot traditionally is that right clicking is FAR less level depenant than ability levels.

Exceptions like jinx/kog exist but they have to get only to level 9 for most of thier scaling damage.

So by comparison old cassiopia was a pretty good laner.

She had health and mana regen. And only had to level e for most of her damage.

So we just need to throw someone Bottom Lane that doesn't rely on gold and can deal good damage later on.

Who doesnt rely on exp and can hopefully carry as thats what the support is supposed to garuntee

No.

You need to put someone bot who scales well with gold, but not as much with XP. Additionally, it is very advantageous if the bot laner is not depending on the ramping tankiness from levels for his defenses - meaning, not melee.

I honestly don't think so. I used to, but then I saw a Brand bot with a Karma support.

I think it depends on the matchup, and how skilled you are at a non-marksman adc.

Say we have a top vayne, and the enemy botlane is a Janna/Caitlyn.

Going a melee ADC wouldn't be a good idea due to range and disengage from the enemy duo. Unless you had a support like Blitz.

I think it just depends on the comp really. Could be viable, but more than likely the enemy team will stick to meta picks and go with a marksman/support botlane, thus making anything not ranged difficult to play. If you went like, Ahri APC, then perhaps that could work botlane.

But yeah. Too many variables to give a for-sure answer D:

So we just need some long range?

Desolas Arterius1 votes

Probably :D Like I said it all depends on the matchups. If you know your enemy is going a traditional botlane combo, then picking something around that could help.

Thresh/Blitz is super fun, and even Rengar/Thresh can wreck a lot of Marksman/Support combos.

But yeah, just depends on the comp and what the enemies are playing. You don't want to play a melee champ against Janna or Leona, but against a Sona or Soraka it could be viable since most ADC's don't have a way to get away. And if you want an APC carry, someone with range can also work against a marksman. Like Xerath, Ahri, etc.

My dreams of Veigar Carry begin now

Dude, Tank Veigar Top is brutal. I suggest trying it out o: I've seen it trash top laners so hard haha.

I usually build Veigar AP Bruiser as of late in any role I go so that I can do whatever I please without worrying about being popped

That's pretty good too. My friend likes building item 3027 item 3083 item 3068 item 3060 and other tank items for ridiculous fun. He could never die but could still 1-shot people with his ult.

The ADC in top lane does not work against a jungle with half a brain. A smart jungle will gank top twice, avoid taking the kill, and allow the top lane to have both kills to themselves and leave lane without taking any farm. The top lane will then have a significant lead in gold and exp over that adc and the adc will be forced back until the inevitable destruction of their turret.

I once jungled with a Renekton on my team and a Vayne on the enemy side. I only had to gank top twice to ensure Ren had a substantial lead over Vayne.
