I do not want to invest in a game that I think is going to fail soon

From the looks of these prestige skins and events that cost money coming out every patch it looks like riot is hurting for some $. Sadly there are two main reasons why I stopped buying skins and they both fall if riots negligence.

One I'm not going to pay $10-20 for a skin when the state of the game is trash. This has been an ongoing problem since the start of season 5 but is widely noticeable now. Damage is too high as well as a plethora of other issues. I'm not sure I'm going to be playing this game much longer and the only reason I play is because I'm waiting for a better game to come out.

Second there is no compensation on the off chance that I get banned. Boom that's just money wasted. Since I learned about this I have no spend a dime on this game. This is pure 100% greed. You can ban a player permanently regardless of how much money they spent on this game claiming thy are toxic. You know what's really toxic? The game in general. Riot has created this toxic environment where you are forced into games with players who are worse than you and expected to carry them or placed into games with good teammates but enemies who are better than you and you never stood a chance anyway, then expected not to be frustrated. This is a frustrating game expecially when it comes to getting one shot.

Fix this riot and you will be rewarded. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I still for the life of me will NEVER understand the "This game sucks but there is nothing better" argument ever.

The game is a shadow of its former self. As an ex world of warcraft player I can tell you right now that this game will be around for another year or 2 before they fold. Skins and new champions are 90% if their profit. They made $700,000,000 less than they did last year. How many players does that mean quit? It doesn't even matter if Noone quits. If Noone buys anything then the game will fail.

Yeah, the next hottest game is out, that tends to happen, doubt this game will fail in the next two years, but ok, you still didn't explain the "There is no better game." argument thing, so you would rather force yourself to play a game you don't enjoy then to find a new one?

Oh noes the game made less money than before! And it's still in the top 3 of games that made money this year still and guess what? They are now doing other stuff that will give them money. People have been saying that league is dying since season 2, the game isn't going to die because they didn't make the same amount of money than the year prior. Companies have years where they take a hit all the time. Also even if they didn't made as much money did they still managed to profit? Are they in the red? If so by how much? Companies are willing to have a year or two of not making as much money if it means that they can make more afterwards, it's called investing.

  1. You're basing that claim off a speculative third party review.
  2. Season 7 Revenues were bloated by the full implementation of Hextech Chests. There was nothing Significant added to the product mix in Season 8. We have yet to see what Prestige Skins do to Season 9 revenues.
  3. The numbers you're basing your accusation on were from an article discussing PROFIT, not revenue. Season 8 had the largest expenditure on Esports Presentation/marketing costs of Riot's existence. That cuts into profit.
  4. Their products are only looking better and better, not worse.

Players who get banned should not be refunded their money, otherwise players would int to get permabanned to get their money back and never play the game again or put that money into another account for 1.

2, players that get banned don't deserve a refund on content that was never theirs. You rent digital content from riot for the duration of your account being active. You never own it. If you leave a flat you rented, you can't then ask to own the flat.

Also the games ranked system always puts you in equal games in terms of MMR. In your rank there will be players that are consistently that rank, and players that are really inconsistent and have good or bad games.

I actually uninstalled yesterday, I just think the damage meta is unbearable. The game isn't what it used to be so I've just got to wait for them to try a second rejuvenation and hope that one is better.

I agree.

Yup.

Yup and yup.

More then fair.

You play the game because you've learnt what all the champions do, and you hope the game starts to get better in the next patch. But patch after patch... nothing.

What other league-like games are there? Smite and Dota are no better than league atm. People got league over those because league was slower paced and there was more outplay potential. The game looks better and works thematically. Now it's the same as all the others, it just looks better.

I actually got an RTS I've been smashing out some multiplayer of, and I've been playing a Moba on my phone. There are good alternatives to league but it's just finding them.

Still in the Star Citizen waiting lobby I guess. I actually think when it's released I'll be dead from old age it'll be the next Skyrim

Then yeah, stop playing, go play another game, there are other free to play games.

People got into League for slower player what? I thought people got into league for the faster gameplay over DoTA?

Then go find them, I don't think you should be able to complain about a thing being bad, while you actively refuse to find better and continuing to play the bad thing.

Why should they compensate you if you get banned? Sorry but what? They have ZERO obligation to compensate you for anything. That's like you going to a random store, stealing from said store and then demanding compensation for being arrested for doing something you shouldn't be doing.

Sorry but a game with a cash flow of $4-5 Billion isn't going to fail. 1/5 of the population of EARTH has played League of Legends, and it has over 26 million concurrent users at any given time between all servers.

Even if they offend the player base and see a revenue decline, they have a huge buffer in cash to reinvent their product, the consumer confidence to persist, and the largest communications company backing it.

I'm sorry to break this to you, but unlike Blizzard or EA games, who were small gaming studios who became successful on their own, Riot/Tencent is one of the largest conglomerates/subsidiaries in the world. Saying they are going to die is like saying Apple, who is the 3rd largest "Economy" in the world, is going to go Bankrupt.

Didn’t you complain about League failing in another thread on this board? I thought you found another game at this point and you said your goodbyes, but now you’re back.

I hope the outside reality didn’t hit you too hard in the face. If you still think that you should get compensated for being banned after all this time of being silent, then I’m sure your parents would be so proud of you from the bottom of their wallets.

Would you give money to toxic maniacs or arrogant people because they pushed and insulted you? Because you would sound like a sad hypocrite at the obvious answer.

I can’t believe I’m stating this again but: You claim that Rito’s going to lose their business in a couple of years, but that’s been said ever since LoL was implemented. Many other haters said this for DOTA, and then Starcraft 2, and then Overwatch, then PUBG, then Fortnite, then Battlerite, and this game is still standing.

The game isn’t dying, it’s changing. If you can’t accept that, and you still cling to your fantasies of being “compensated for being an asswipe”, I’ll be sure that you will accomplish nothing with your one-man strike.

Keep in mind that it took riot a LONG time to go from amazing like back in season 1-3 to well above average game now. Yes league is nowhere near as good as it once was but honestly, very few games will ever be as good as league use to be. At least riot has the formula to go back even if they are not choosing to do so right now.

You will be waiting a long time if you expect a brand new game to match how good league use to be.
