Why is this allowed to go through minions?
It's a 1.5 second root, that you can't hide from. He has way to much zoning power in the bot lane.
It's the same death sentence as a 
hook, but more powerful.

You CAN hide from it with minions. Put them BEHIND you... Sheesh
My problem with it is it's travel speed & in some cases, it blends in with the surroundings. I can dodge a Blitzcrank Q, but I find Swain's E a bit harder to dodge at times.
lol salty adc main, his hook is nothing like the other champs it is a SLIGHT displacement that is outclassed by every other hook in the game
