How to make autofill feel good

It simple...Rewards. You had to autofill a position your not good at/not trying to play/completely uninterested in, here is some:

RP...There you go, pay me to do it, perfect

Chest/keys... Everybody else gets a reward...faster que times for the position they wanted to play. I'll take this for having to fill in as support

IP...If that's the best you can do for us riot...Atleast make it like 100 IP every time I autofill

IP boost next game you win if you autofill?

Thats not the problem for me tbh, my problem is that I have to go look up my team every game now and Im forced to dodge or take a 85% loss if 2 or more people are autofilled.

I just think it will help ease the people who really don't care for it into their role better...Heck maybe if you autofill your reward gets better for a better grade.

This would cause some people to spam roles they hate and are bad at simply because skins are more valuable than LP, could definitely create for much more poorly matched and toxic games.

Since what people want out of the system is their preferred roles, maybe instead a more appropriate reward would be to make players immune to autofill for a time after they autofill.

Don't they already do that?

Id be happier to auto fill if the guy who is in my main role isnt a clueless nublet :)

Wouldn't we all....While were at it i'd also rather never play poorly myself, but....We have no control over the skill of the people we play with. But some regocnition for being a good team player would be healthy for the community.

Its not like the player is mechanically bad.. they just dont know where to be on the map lol. I personally just HATE bot lane.. i feel like unless you are snowballing ur lane u are at the mercy of ur team to control the game.. Specifically jg/mid.

Ironically, the only thing that would do is forced the few support mains to quit the role and plays mid/top until they get autofill as supports.

But hey, let's bring complicated solutions to autofill instead of fixing the obvious thing: cough support update cough.

Malfectious1 votes

Probably not...They are support mains because they like to play support. You can only autofill every so often...It's not like this is going to change that way players earn IP or something. Just a nice way to reward those who just had to fill.

How about we delete autofill by fixing the bigger problem so you won't have to fill ever again unless you choose that role. How does that sound?

Malfectious1 votes

Doesn't work, never has. People have always had to fill out the team party if you want to win. And this stuff about changing support.... Change it to what?...It shouldn't be the same as the other roles, it's support.

You don't get it, do you?

Give people an actual incentive to play support and see how autofill won't be needed.

Aka rework supports as a class.

Do you know why Riot even introduced Autofill in the first place? Because queue times were too long. Why they were so long? Because there's a role that almost nobody plays, I'll let you guess which one is it out of the 5.

Also I said fixing not changing, there's a lot of issue with support right now. I'll spare you the details because you find pretty much anything you need to know in any recent support thread.

Alternate proposal: keep this reward deal, but make Autofilling an opt-in thing. You can leave yourself open to Autofill for shorter queue times and a small IP bonus (how does 15-20 sound?), and if autofill scares you, or if you just REALLY want to play Zed mid this time, you can opt-out of autofill for one game, and sacrifice your shorter queue time and IP bonus.

Nobody gets punished, only given something they want. Sound fair?

Malfectious1 votes

Not bad if it works. I personally think a small of RP would be much more effective. There are plenty of dedicated played who have a hard time sparing $$ for League...Playing a little fill could help them get a skin they would buy if they had the money...

I agree, I just doubt the additional efficacy would be worth an additional hit to their profits (skins are a surprisingly large portion of their income, I wager).
