As much as I am excited for Runes Reforged

I feel like it's just going to be like the current masteries system where we have choices, but it's just going to come down to meta and whatever keystones are meta is what everyone is going to follow and Riot is going to fail again with the playstyle deciding aspect of the game.

I may just be pessimistic, but when keystone masteries first came out Riot had that same mentality and it just turned into everyone using the same masteries for the same champions (Thunderlords used to rule this game). I really do like the effort to try and introduced more variety into this game, but it's so hard to accomplish that when a meta is so strict.

Only keystones I can really see accomplishing a play style decision are Support keystones since Supports champion kits are all different compared to ADCs or mages.

As the saying goes, "Nobody's perfect".

But on a more serious tone... that really CAN'T be avoided. All competitive games have "Metas" and in all of those games, various playstyles rise and fall **With **the rise of fall of what brings them about.

Thus, with that in mind, whatever new Keystone Runes that come about when this goes live in the presumed November Pre-Season, some Keystone (Or Keystones), in combination with certain Minor and Major Runes (Just calling it what he did in the video) will stand out as a powerful force, and thus become the new "Meta Pick".

Riot will make adjustments, just as they did with the 'Thunderlords rules all' time, as all other competitive games do with nerfs and buffs. I, for one, am cautiously optimistic about this potential future of Runes, as I also have felt doubts similar to what you voiced here.

I'm glad they're finally changing the system, but yeah... it's probably still going to have the same problems in-game. There will some champions with no real viable keystone, and others that can completely abuse several of them and make them impossible to balance.
