I don't know of a single high Elo top laner that doesn't complain about trundle

Now either I'm lying or everyone that believes he's balanced is low Elo. Laning vs trundle makes me want to claw my eyes out. A champ that buy a Tiamat early but has so much fucking tankiness and sustain and survivability should not be allowed to lane. His ulti is a 1v1 free win. His q is disgusting. His aa base damage is absolutely cancerous. Fervor trundle is why people in the top lane commit suicide. His e can't be countered early game. His w is just not fair. Please do something to this champ

Correct me if I'm wrong but previously he was considered as AD champs counter, since he can effectively drain every useful stat they try to build and utilize it. Now in this AD and tank meta when AP champions can't do anything meaningful vs tanks, picking Trundle means you counter most of the enemy team. Especially the popular 4-5 ad comps (including support (hi Poppy)). IMO he just does his job properly, if you want to win lane against him, pick something AP (Liss, Lulu, Heimer, Morg). If they are too weak to punish him, their laning needs buff.

Also D5 is not high elo.

he can't do anything top to champs like kayle, quinn, ryze, gangplank to name a few who all have higher winrates top. i think you just need to expand your champ pool..

I'm not talking about riven. Every melee is countered by trundle. Darius,Yasuo, poppy, gangplank. The only people that can go even with him are ranged champs like lulu and Quinn

Watching masters streams and s5 master players complain about trundle makes it more believable

The only people that stand to him are ranged. I'm pretty sure riot said something along the lines of "we don't want to make champs hard counters to an entire role of champs "

trundle is for sure strong against other tanks and general melee champs. but at the end of the day he loses against most ranged champions. its intentional. i cant think of a single scenario where a trundle kills an ahri or leblanc.

I'm a silver scrub but:

Don't not attempt to fight Trundle in his W, you'll most likely lose.
Do not extend a fight with Trundle because you most likely lose. Quick trades works best, damage him and back off.
all stand some sort of chance against him.
both work against his healing.
for his armor.
Ban him if you absolutely can't stand him.
Pick champs that are better in teamfights
Cry under your tower until jungler arrives.
Give up on life and uninstall, this is a last resort.

I play ryze and I literally see no problem with him. if you have any cc or escape he can't cope. I laugh my ass off as Ryze when the enemy picks trundle because in reality what will he do? WALK AT ME?

if you use a counter, or you are skilled, no matchup will be hard. I fight hard counters all the time. you have to work around them. And, as the Romans would say, VI VICTA VIS (strength beats strength) to beat a strong, difficult to fight champion, pick your own strong difficult to fight champion. I also pick Nasus into Trundle and wait for him to ult so I can recover my health with my ult and crush him with 4 1100 stack Qs.

Dont go near trundle. Pressure other lanes through map presence and bring more utility. Trundle's peel doesnt work well if you get a pick, and his amazing tankiness doesnt help him if you arent killing him. At that point, all he can really do is make you a lot squishier and attempt to keep you off your next target. His damage alone isnt that great.

His sustain is fairly minimal as far as sustain goes. You can out poke his sustain. Its not something as strong as vlad. Its really only noticeable if you dont hurt him in a while.

hes hard counters every damn tank and every meta top laner there is. he hardly has any counters. hes annoying as fuck. hes literally the only champion i can never win lane against on my own without junglers help. what point of the game is he weak huh? he scales the longer the game lasts also hes probably the best early game champion in the game fuck darius can't even fight him early game. how stupid for a champion to ult you and run you down under your own turret and your a tank. am silver 1 but this mother fucker is just too much to deal with. fuckin outheals a mundo and 10 times tankier late game

Darius can kind of fight him early game, if he lands his Q's well he can usually win trades... Course once Trundle hits level 6 it's gg lane over.

This matchups has just kept going worse and worse for Darius over the seasons. Before Rework Darius had the upper hand in lane because he could zone with his Q ( which was terrifying back then ) then they reworked Darius and he lost lots of his lane power. i was still able to beat Trundles after 6 though with a cleaver and a QSS though. Now that QSS doesn't affect his ultimate, Darius is completely powerless against him.

Because riot made his Ult very strong. Its not just that, he literally shreds 20% armor and magic resist immediately and it turns to 40% on both if you continue to fight him thus making him regen even more and hitting you even harder. Oh yeah once he puts his ice field = even more health regen. Attack speed already provided so he doesn't need to build any attack speed items at all. Q gives him a decent amount of ad. What Riot needs to do is revert the ult buff. He is one of the strongest dueler out of all top laners. Funny thing is that Tiamat really does nothing except a free aa. its his kit that gives him that tankyness sustain etc.

One perfect nerf for him is to make it so that when he ults, he only gains 25% of the damage dealt as HP and the rest as regen very similar to Mord's Ult. I have seen it so many times where i Ult someone and i get a huge chunk of HP. like 633!

Trundle is a tank counter. The top lane meta is tanks.

Yeah, i could see why people who abuse the overpowered duo of Ekko Maokai every game for the freelo could be upset about a champion that is basically designed to shit on them for the entire course of the game. He has an incredibly strong early game, but he also has no escapes so if he plays aggressive, like he always will, hes a pretty easy gank target.

Teemo actually is quite good against Trundle, except he has to be very aggresive to make it work otherwise his passive will just nullify Teemo's poke. Quinn on the other hand is pretty weak at the moment in most peoples eyes, and Trundle can just beat her to death if her E is on CD.

If the teemo is good hes got a level advantage on trundle due to him missing minion waves due to backing, and has lots of shrooms out by the time trundle hits six. Trying to all in a teemo that hit six more than 1 minute ahead of you is crazy.

Azir ulti counters Trundle Ulti because you just disengage and walk away. You can dash over his pillar easily. You can harass him without taking any return damage You scale harder than him.

Really the only thing hes got late game is a split push, but TP azir can just waveclear for days against that kind of crap, and stalling out the game is a win for Azir anyways.

But yeah, as far as standard picks go I agree Trundle is silly.

Teemo used to be the answer back in the day but riot kept nerfing his shrooms.. guess now you pay the price.
Heimerdinger try this one for a change Gnar Galio Jax Nunu see a pattern here? all very low winrate champions but these used to all be very viable counters to trundle. its not trundle's fault that his counters are very low playrate and in general and all need a considerable buff to be viable.

here are 2 champs that are in a decent spot Quinn counters him pretty hard if played right. Graves

and although people complain about him.. his overal winrate is not that high so i doubt riot will be concerned with trundle atm there are much worse offenders

he was ok in 6.9 with a decent playrate of 2 % (most of the other champs i listed have a playrate of below 0.5%) and a winrate of 50-52% not as bad as some of the other champs i listed.

His ult needed the QSS counter. That was the only think keeping him kinda in-line. I have no idea as to how Riot should balance him now, but there needs to be some way to stop his ult effect.

I picked up Trundle a few months ago. He is now the only champion I feel like I can smash a lane with no matter what. His early game is disgusting. If I hit level two first I'm going to pillar behind you and Q you to death or you are going to blow your flash. Every. Game. Now that being said if I am not playing trundle top but someone else, I ban him he is harder to lane against then a lot of other champions. The only person who even remotely gives me trouble is Quinn or Nautilus. But once I get my Titanic and boots I will walk into lane and destroy a Quinn. Playing him though I get camped hard by the enemy jungle. Non stop. Really annoying. He is very strong but not unbeatable. Like a lot of champs.

Play Morg top into him. Just clear the waves with W's early, don't even have to walk into range of him... and if he tries to get fancy you can disengage with both Q and R. Not to mention the only thing he has that can break your shield is his ult, so unless he wants to seriously all in you can walk out of pillar slows without a problem. (And if he does all in with ult, not like you can't use your Q or R to force the distance open again.)
