Slow Ashe

So I've been playing League solidly for about a month now. I main Ashe, she fits my style of play and all, plus hey, I've always loved her classic skin since before I even knew what this League of Legends fuss was all about.

The one problem with Ashe I've increasingly begun to notice as I try more difficult matches is her movement speed. There is no way to kite. I end up hugging towers or praying my support doesn't blow a play when our team makes a shift. And even with my slows, I barely have any chance to make a run for it when my team is on the retreat.

I know I'm still pretty new to this game, but ever since the Boots of Swiftness nerf, I have noticed that I pretty much have no chance of escaping whatsoever when things collapse. I have started selecting both Flash and Ghost as my spells now because there is simply no other way for me to escape a bad position--and even then I will get caught by a Lucian or sometimes even a Jhin. Even when I use my R to stop, say, a charging Blitzcrank, he still is able to make ground on me after the stun is over. Boots hardly seem to increase my odds of survival.

I know this is a game and logic isn't always consistent with reality, but my archer who is all about 'moving swiftly' seems to be one of the slowest champs in the game that I'm so far aware of. I checked out her stats on the wiki and for an ADC, there's not much lower than her. Even Kog'Maw has the same movement speed.

Is there some secret I don't know about Ashe's movement? I feel sooooo slow on top of being squishy.

She's an immobile ADC based around her passive slow. If you build crit chance her slow gets very high and you can be practically untouchable after getting 50%. Look up some Ashe guides and read those if you want to learn

See, I didn't even know critical chance worked on anything except her R. Thanks!

To Catastrop's point about attack moving, this is very important. I recommend checking out a YouTube video by a fellow named ScrapComputer.

The video is a bit old, but the information is solid and still applies. (He even uses Ashe in the video)

He also has a lot of other very detailed videos that I strongly recommend you checking out because he is very detailed. His accent can be a little difficult to follow sometimes, but definitely gives worthy information.

Also, if you don't already know of these items, Phage item 3044 and the items it builds into, Trinity Force item 3078 and Black Cleaver item 3071 will really help with your concerns about mobility as they give you a boost of movement speed immediately after every auto attack.

Thanks so much! I'll have to look into the small text of items some more. I just recently started to understand what the passives on items are doing.

Base Health Regen - Until a week ago, I embarrassingly thought that just meant I regen health faster when I'm standing in the 'base' fountain. I was seriously confused as to who would want that.

If you're still new then it's just a learn to play thing, you should practice attack moving. This is a helpful mechanic on any ADC, especially for Ashe imo because her passive lets her kite incredibly well. You don't have to perfect it by any means, just start placing small movement commands while attacking, that way if you aren't going to be able to get away you can at least dish out some AA damage to tilt those scenarios in your favour.

But doesn't movement sacrifice some attacks for my passive? It's really important to make the most of it from what I've experienced so far, and moving costs precious firepower.

I will try to learn, though. Thanks for the advice!

(And wow, downvoted just because I asked for help.)

I was typing my last comment when you posted this, .. see the video.

Welcome to the boards lol. Sorry, but it's a sad fact that there are trolls who will downvote everything just because. It's pretty sad.

It doesn't actually, it nets you more AA's by moving between. It's why you'll see people that play champions that don't really build attack speed, move with each hit when they're taking a tower. I think it basically resets the auto timer, I can't quite remember, some game mechanics I've never bothered looking too deeply in.

It's no problem.

Well, that just means you're officially a member of the Boards now XD

Lol don't be. It took me a super long time too. This game has a very high learning curve. Scrap helped me out a lot. Also, if you haven't already checked out the league of legends wikia page

http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/League_of_Legends_Wiki

Bookmark it! It is your best friend. It gives a lot more details on items, abilities, stats, tips, suggested build paths and strategies. ....

Another piece of advice I would give you is to try and look at every situation as a chance to learn from your own mistakes (because you will make mistakes). If you really want to get hard core, find a way to record and watch your own games. Any time you do something silly, try and look at what information you had available to you just before it happened and learn what you could have done differently. *Windows 10 has a built in feature with its xbox app that allows you to capture game windows by pressing Win + Alt + R. *

Positioning is key. With how many gap-closers exist, it's very easy for someone to dive and stick on you. Position yourself based on enemy cooldowns and it will make kiting that much easier.

First thing, item 3072 And item 3085 and her q = fucking gg even if you can't kite with her just she can heal everything and her passive... she will slow the shit out of you and you want her ms higher?.....
