The Season 5 Jungle doesn't feel fun

It may just be me and a handful of other people, but I am slowly being discouraged from playing Jungle, after having enjoyed it for the past two years. I used to feel good about killing the Wraiths and being healthy enough to assist my team, but now, even trying to kill the Chicken equivalents forces me to recall just so I do not face the humiliation of an "Executed." But even then, I feel like I am not making much of an impact for my team, which is why I loved Jungling. This current season has so many obstacles for Jungling that it doesn't feel rewarding for me to play it.

I'd like to talk about the creep camps. They currently beat the crap out of any champion who have no sufficient way of healing themselves, which is one of the main reasons why Warwick and Fiddlesticks became extremely strong during Preseason. After taking my third camp, I am left with very little health unless I am adopting Runes/Mastery setup of Spell Vamp with AP Junglers like Sejuani. At that point, I usually have to recall and buy my Jungle Item. By then, my lane teammates are halfway to Level 4 while I have just reached Level 3. I am playing catch-up from the start of the game.

What makes it worse for me is how I feel like I'm not getting enough experience. Even if I gank and successfully nab 4+ kills for my team, I am still usually underleveled compared with the rest of my team. Also, the Jungle creeps also do not provide sufficient experience for the amount of damage they deal to me, and that is why many people who wrote Jungling guides advised avoiding the Wight camp due to the amount of damage it dealt for the lack of experience it offered. This is how I feel about the Season 5 Jungle right now as I take a crapton of damage to the point where I cannot afford to gank. However, even if I do gank and secure kills, I do not receive enough experience for the amount of time that I could have used to get experience from the Jungle. Stonewall008 has posted a video with Preseason 5 Jungling where he, as Trundle (literally trolling), secured 80% of his team's kills but still fell 3 levels short of the two solo laners.

The only way of which I know to stay on par with everyone else on the team is to farm as much as possible, seeing that many Junglers can get to level 5 at the 5:30 mark. Consequentially, if Junglers need to farm to stay ahead in levels, that means their ganking potential will be hindered, and ganking is what defined the role of the Jungler. I just want to see more rewards for the different styles of Jungling. As of now, I don't feel Jungling is rewarding enough for the amount of difficulty in just surviving the Jungle creeps.

If you are having hard times in the jungle, go back to laning. Jungling is for ADVANCED PLAYERS. I know that the jungle is super hard now, but taking camps and ganking takes time to master. As Vi I can clear the whole jungle in one go. Im super duper low but I can do it. If you cant clear your first jungle just take your red/blue and the 2 camps respectively wolfs/gromp, raptors, golems. Then just go back buy as much hp potions as you need and get item 3713. This item is useful on ANYONE its meant for bad junglers (tanks, ap) or just any jungler that wants a quick buff then you can go straight to ganking. If you want to get good at this new jungle forget about every other smite item other than item 3713. Raptors are for vision control and to make sure you are safe to gank. Gromp is for better clear in the jungle. Wolfs is for if anyone is constantly in your jungle, this is rarely used though. And golems are for better clear in the jungle with the stun. Learn all buffs, learn how to clear fast and farm fast while staying healthy to gank. Falling behind in the new jungle is pretty much game over.

m8... no. Just... no. No role in lol is only for "advanced" players. What a crock. Everyone should try jungle, especially since the S5 changes. Maybe more players would have more respect for what junglers are trying to do.

This is true and one of the biggest problems with the new jungle. The reality is in solo que you cant always control what role you play. No matter how much you try to avoid it, if you are following the summoners code which Riot claims you must, then you will get stuck jungling no matter what.

And yet Riot has simultaneously designed a jungle that needs a lot of practice just to be remotely serviceable to your team. The main reason I refuse to do my placements is because of what a mess the jungle is and how little confidence I have in playing it even though i Jungled alot season 4.

Riot has to chose. Either let us choose roles in ranked or you cant make the jungle so insane that you practically have to main it to have any chance of being useful to your team.

Smite red to get hp back. Don't have to kill it, just smite it gives you hp.

And get item 3713 if your jungling involves a lot of near death experiences, then slowly more onto other items once you maybe fiddle around your masteries, runes and playstyle/route so you no longer die to jungle.

Adapt or die.

ya ya i know ... pretty harsh but despite of all the difficulties you mention champs like Jarvan 4 have risen and hes not the only one.

Here's a couple of tips:

If you cannot get your first jungle upgrade and boots after you're first recall then your path or jungler choice isnt good enough and just stick with Trailblazer until your able to figure out the new jungle.

Good Luck.

Don't feel bad. Yi can't even do Gromp + blue w/o burning pots. And the jg experience is completely inadequate.

Are you sure about this? Get gromp, meditate level 2. get blue, clear wolves and go to do your red, all of that with using only one potion.

Are you using the right runes... If you want a proof, you might want to check a guy named "Cowsep" an english-speaking korean player that mains Yi. He's been doing it over and over without any clearing issues.

"w/o burning pots."

I tried it once with a ward instead of pots. Died to blue buff after gromp. If your jg champ does not have some sort of innate sustain, pots are an absolute requirement.

I agree that jungle does not offer enough XP. Even with fast clearers like Shyv or sustain champs like WW/fiddle I simply can't keep up in levels no matter how well I play.
