Nobody actually uses Malzahar's passive for its initially stated purpose.

If I recall correctly when Malzahar was reworked they said his passive was chosen to compliment his ult. Old Malz had the problem of just getting immediately locked down and blown up if he ulted the backline during the early moments of an actual teamfight. His new passive completely fails to address that problem and instead just functions as a free Banshee's that makes him immune to picks.

That's for sure. Luckily you can counter build him with item 3905 to take his shield down before you use your picking ability.

or just shoot him with an AA or just use any lame ability or just any spell or a nocturne ult or fart
