Stop split pushing. You don't know what you're doing. Just stop. I know you saw Darshan do it that one time, and he's just the coolest person ever, but stop.

Split pushing is not "Let me afk ram my face off this lane repeatedly until I die an hope I get some towers in the process."

There's a shit ton more that goes into it, and it requires planning, communication, and coordination. NONE of those things exist in solo queue.

All you're doing is making the entire game 4v5.

"Oh mY GaWd gUiSE PusH SomETHIng wheN they CoME for ME"

it doesn't work like that. If we're losing the 4v4's and 4v5's, or you're losing the 1v1s or 1v2s, we're not going to accomplish anything other than bleeding objectives and losing the game.

"I HaZ TP u GUiSE"

Yeah and you're gonna show up right as the fight ends, and just fall flat on your face.

On the OFF CHANCE that you HAPPEN to get some towers with your "strategy," you should know that its because of pure dumb luck - not anything you did. That, or someone in your 4 man squad just carried your AFK ass.

So please, unless you've got a blue-green border around your name, or little diamonds in the corners.... please just group for team fights. MAYBE do a 4-1 or 3-2 split in adjacent lanes AT MOST.... but even then, its almost always better to just group. The only time I wanna see bronze/silver/gold players splitting up is when we have baron.

Other than that, its front to back 5v5 fights. Because that's all we're competent enough to know how to do at our elo.

PLEEEEASE stop "split pushing."

This is quite frankly a terrible advice.

Yeah, low elo players need to look at guides and try to learn from their mistakes when splitting.

But there is no reason to stunt your own growth as a player for people who are just as bad as you.

players who relentlessly ram their face against top lane until they die, then go back and do it again all game, then blame their team for not supporting their "split push" aren't very interested in growing as a player.

They think they're executing a known strategy, and its the team's fault its not going well. At no point do they even question the fact that maybe they might be doing something wrong. There's no reasonable sense of self doubt.

Why else would they REPEATEDLY shove all the way down a lane just to die, and then flame their team mates because nothing is being accomplished and they're losing?

Does that sound like a player who's interested in growing? To me that sounds like a player who thinks they're right and everyone else is wrong, and the only reason they're not ALREADY challenger is because somehow the RNG gods hate them and place them with bad team mates all the time.

... What.

Pretty self explanatory.

I mean you can sit there and act like its not a 5 to 1 ratio of people who just repeatedly die trying to "split push" when they have no idea what they're doing compared to people who actually accomplish something -- you're free to act like that if you want.

But you and I both know the majority of the time its just some idiot afk farming a lane all game long accomplishing basically nothing but feeding and making every team fight lopsided.

There's literally no way you haven't experienced this. Unless you're not bronze/silver/gold. In which case I'm obviously not referring to you or the people you play with anyway.

Split pushers tend to know what they're doing, but their team doesn't. If a split pusher gets visited by 3 enemies in lane, he can just hang back, as long as the rest of their team tries to push for an objective elsewhere with their 4v2 number's advantage. Most of the time this doesn't happen and their team just takes the opportunity to grab wolves or go shopping. If the split pusher's team is 4v5, instead of hanging back and letting the split pusher do his job (getting turrets or pulling pressure to him) they engage a fight with a number's disadvantage.

If you can't win both the 4v4 and 1v1, you aren't going to win the teamfight with a split pusher either. At that point you either got outdrafted or just aren't as good as the opponents.

The team often does not communicate, whether its enemies missing or if a fight is about to happen and the split pusher has to TP. They also don't even ward for the split pusher, leaving most of the jungle dark. People seem to have the misconception that top laners always know exactly what is happening every second of the game, at every location of the map.

It's not that split pushers are bad, its just that most players tend not to educate themselves past their own roles. You seem to be one of these players.

That's not the kind of players i'm talking about, if you'd read OP.

I'm talking about the players who just afk farm a lane all game long and run down top lane over and over again until either A.) They get a tower B.) They die

Then they rinse and repeat. I'm not talking about players who know what they're doing, because at my elo they're few and far between. 80% of "split pushing" at my elo is just some kid ramming his face off of one lane the entire game with no wards, no map pressure, and no map awareness, NOT winning their 1v1 matchup let alone a 1v2 or 1v3, NOT teleporting to team fights, and just dying over and over again and saying "Why aren't we winning? U guyse sucK!"

We could literally be 4v4'ing at baron, and their lane opponent will TP making it 4v5, and they'll just keep on keepin' on. Because they're "split pushing."

THATS what I'm talking about. And I'm fairly confident I made that clear in the original post.

What you're describing is just stereotypical bronze behavior, and this behavior is not at all unique to split-pushers. So I don't know why you're just addressing split-pushers. You're also generalizing; acting as if all top laners below platinum have this mentality. There are plenty of top laners who use their brain.

Honestly you didn't really make anything clear in your original post. It came across as a rant from someone who just played a game with a bad split pusher.

If you never try to do it, how can you ever improve on it? What even IS this? a "just play ornn and teamfight" thread?
