What is the point of tanks building it in the first place? If I don't get any defensive steroids (Maokai's ult for example) that reduce damage, how can I be expected to survive in a fight long enough to do my job? I get 55% effectiveness on my armor?? Why?

Think back to how oppressive GP was when his barrels bypassed over 50% armor. You get close to that just by purchasing

Profirix1 votesI'm not talking about rushing it. I'm talking about it being an easy answer for tanks once they have invested in armor. It just doesn't seem fair to negate that much gold with one item. Not even a full item.

and lets say you run 9 armor runes... and get all this items so 90+60+100+50 for a total of 309 armor -45% (139) leaves you with 170 bonus armor not including your natural scaling armor and lets take maokai for example has 97 base armor at lvl 18
97+170 = 267 effective armor

with those items you listed even after the reduction leaving you with 267 effective armor you are also forgetting the passives from those items of the aoe attacks speed slow, the mana, the cdr, the hp, the movement speed bonus, the attack speed slow when hit , the aoe slow , the reduce damage from crit and oh yea the damage reflection that is grows with the more armor you have
so its not always a waste... you legit have not thought this out ... and its clear you dont know what you are talking about.

GP never bypassed over 50% It was 50% which was nerfed to 40% And it wasn't the pen on barrels that made him overpowered
