Support Lee Sin a thing?

I have tried this out in only two games so far. The laning phase vs supports, blitz and thresh were surprisingly easy.

-Relic shield and Safeguard provide decent sustain. -Dragon's rage can disengage multiple targets. Comes in handy when being ganked. -Can obtain vision on stelthed targets. Can check bushes from a safe distance. -Lee loves wards. Rushing Ruby Sightstone feels more like a want than an obligation.

actually i've been seeing more and more AD bruisers doing this, even outside of lee sin. It does actually make sense though. A lot of them are high mobility, naturally tanky, some CC, and get a lot of damage without having to build many damage items. I mean hell riven mid became a thing, at this point bruisers can pretty much fill any role.

Supports must have more than poke/peel to be viable. CC, sustain, anything that helps in lane and not falling during late game not avoiding the main support items (at least vision control).

I've seen some Lee Sin supports lately but 8/10 failed from mid game on due the lack of utility or gold for the build.

If they didn't buy gold items that's their fault, but realistically having item 3401 item 3069 item 3092 and item 2045, can easily fit in a bruiser's build. Many have natural damage and can powerfully initiate onto enemies and just about tie the damage of the ADCs.

People just don't think through what they can do. I've got a friend (though i don't want to see people start taking bruisers support) who will take Pantheon support, he starts item 3303, because his W still benefits directly with the AP, the stacks work with any type of damage and apply the bonus damage, then the mana regen helps with continuous poke.

If the bruiser is poke focused item 3303 is a good Pantheon If the bruiser is tankier item 3302 works Nasus If the bruiser is initiation focused item 3301 works Darius

Im not saying it doesnt work, what im saying is like deciding who is meta and who is not, what he can do that other champions cant do better?

ive seen all kind of supports from mages to tanks. Ive seen Tryndamere, Xin, Lee, Jarvan, Rumble, Malphite, Olaf, Nautilus, Shaco, Xerath, Ziggs, Malzahar and so on but the thing is would you use a champion who already falls late game when hes farmed into support role when you will have even less or no farm at all?

For sure they are a pain during lane phase but in the case of a tank, whos items are cheaper to buy than ad/ap but also easily countered by armor pen, theres not much use of those champions late game.

Actually that's only one the basis that they just support. While yes, they help the ADC in lane phase, if the ADC lets the bruiser get the kills while taking advantage of the free farm in lane, then using their range to get kills in the mid game. The bruiser ends up being fed, as well as the Marksman.

In terms of the meta, it's actually the complete counter to the squishy mage supports. It's about on par with tank supports like Braum Leona Alistar, but it's a shame that bruisers are so strong and their kits have so much utility, that they out class traditional supports. That said, it's not like it's the first time bruisers have started showing up in the bot lane as supports.

It used to be. Not very viable after the nerfs to his shield duration and the removal of the attack speed slow, which was his main niche as a support.

I can see that making a big difference. I think he still holds a situational spot. Tris Shaco Thresh Blitz Lucian Ranger may be good opportunities to pick Lee.

That is to say Champs with stealths and jumps

I don't think Lee Sin supp works as well because of the nerfs he received, but he actually works very well in the top lane. But I guess it could still work, it would just be a lot weaker.

I've played Lee Sin support, Zed support, Kha'Zix support, Master Yi support. The bruiser champions are starting to go into different roles because of the mobility and utility in their kits.

Well, he's got insance early game burst with little to no items. He's insanely mobile. He has great engage and disengage. The only thing he's lacking is snare/stun to truly be great as a support. That being said, I hate Lee Sin, and hope to never see him bottom lane.

Lee SIn can be a really annoying opponent as a support, but if you play safe and dont let him get ahead he does not do very well. You just do not have the same team fight potential as the good supports
