Anyone bother to explain me why this is better than the toplaner soloing a camp and TP for the lane? Generally the toplaner will get the lane with 1 melee and 3 casters. If he leashes 2 camps he will get after the second wave came. So...? More gold?

There's no real reason to go to top lane immediately right now unless you're playing heimerdinger or something equally stupid that will kill 1 and a half waves by the time the top laner teleports back to lane.
You should be starting camps or helping your jungler in most cases.
One other thing I forgot to mention is that this minimizes the risk of getting invaded.
