Wow. "Dynamic queue reduces toxity" is a big fat lie.

Lyte shoved down our throats "statistics" that players really really want to play with friends. Other rioters said it reduced toxity. I bring you an old post:

http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=4639545&page=1#post48085298 From riot himself. From Lyte the designer of dynamic queue. It is a big fat lie.

"One of the things about voice chat is that more often than not, you end up with games where only a few of the players opt into the application, and the rest are still using text. In our analysis, we found that text-based communication in games where only some of the teammates were in voice chat had up to 126% more racism, sexism, homophobia, and verbal abuse that we all agree have no place in League.

And that's , for you guys, is the current situation of dynamic queue. 4 man premades and a solo punch bag. 126% MORE toxicity.

And it gets better:

Not surprisingly, we also saw that players who were using voice chat with strangers received 47% more reports than your baseline League player.

And that's the FUTURE of league. 47% more reports.

Sadly Lyte left, provably because he could endure the "shove dynamic queues up their a**es" tencent order.

Any red care to answer? Two possible answers:

  1. Riot is lying. Dynamic queue is a cash grab before the game dies.
  2. Lyte was lying when he first posted about voice chat. If that's the case he should have the chance to defend himself.

Probably this post will be ignored. I don't have a reddit acc, if anyone cares to post this here it would be a bless.

Toxicity is still here.

Its just more directed.

At people outside premades.

Y'know cause no one wants to blame the challenger/master/diamond carrying them up the ranks lmao.

Edit: Also its my firm belief that dynamic queue is bad for friendships

Playing with friends is great and all... However, when there is something to gain or lose for each individual (i.e. LP or MMR), there will be more tension when one of those "friends" or yourself makes a mistake that costs you a game or at least makes it harder to win the game.

They can say "Its fine" or "Its Okay" all they want, but inside they're thinking "why are you doing this to me?"

That ain't healthy for relationships.

But thats my own opinion. I'm sure others feel differently.

Lyte's statistics about voice communication are complete garbage. Especially once he calls upon "think of the wymyns"

Well, you shouldn't try to confirm/infirm something from Riot with something from Riot. They rarely publish anything correct when it's mathematically/statistically related.

By the way, from what I saw in near diamond games, it reduced toxicity in won games (everyone got his role, and everything is going well => no flame), but increased it in lose games (you got your main role, but you're losing with it), leading to worse consequences ie losing the whole game.

I've been playing DQ since its been active and I rarely see toxic behavior in my games, so it might be doing something right.

Also please stop using buzzwords you have no idea what it means. If so then please tell me how DQ is a "cash grab" seeing as how nothing in it has to be paid for by us player!

There is nothing, nothing, that the game developers can do to ultimately overcome the problem of "toxicity".

This has been a problem since very early in the game's design, and it existed far before League. Hence, it existed before solo queues / duo queues, and it exists afterwards.

It will go on and continue until we learn how to overcome it as individuals, on an individual basis, by ourselves or with by the grace of good, rational sense that others have put up over and over again.

We have to learn how to remain calm and let those things roll off of our backs. No excuse. No "But!". It's the only, only way.

If you are doing nothing in your own individual matches to make "toxicity" powerless, then it will always exist. Because it is nothing that any simple video game developers can solve. It is human psychology - the actual, age old struggle since the beginning of our mankind's history between one initial prick and the guy who gets pissed off and shouts back, so that there are then 2 pricks - who then go on to endlessly infect others with prick-itude until there are over 7 billion pricks living on Earth.

It happens on the streets of New York, it happens in homes, it happens in League. As individuals we have to be the solution, each one of us healing and recovering from our prick-itude one at a time.

Sadly Lyte left,

No, not really.

Probably this post will be ignored.

Yep, it will be. Anything related with solo/"dynamic" is ignored.

I don't have a reddit acc, if anyone cares to post this here it would be a bless.

I heard admins in reddit delete ANYTHING related to solo/"dynamic" as to not provoke players into thinking.

Cause you know.. idiots are easier to steer.

Note that these stats refer to voice chat with random strangers, not with friends.

Not surprisingly, we also saw that players who were using voice chat with strangers received 47% more reports than your baseline League player.

Many players already use voice chat like Skype and Ventrilo with their friends and that's awesome. But, a system that automatically or easily puts you into voice chat with strangers leads to 126% more toxicity and 47% more reports even when players can opt-out of the experience or mute each other.

i thnk the problem with that statement in the first place is, that its difficult to determine if toxicity in this game was actually reduced by dynamic que or new champ select.

one of the largest issues of the game when solo que still existed was people fighting over roles and pick order in the old champ select. it put a lot of people on tilt before getting into a game.

imo this is actually the largest factor that truly reduced toxicity. imo the new champ select still has flaws. for example i dont see a reason why it shouldnt be optional to pick a 3rd role or 4th role for people who are okay with playing multiple different roles. (optional being the word here), and the current issues with the support role being starved, hence fill = support.

but dynamic que if anything generally only increased toxicity. maybe not neccessarily in chat alone. but the way games are often focused around that 3 or 4 man premade right now that doesnt communicate at all with its solo players, unless its to bash him.

i think if solo que existed like before, with the new champ select they would have also noticed the same drop in toxicity.

Duh?

You don't really believe anything this company tells the players do you?

After 6 straight seasons of lying about anything and everything?

DeathBurst7/1/2016, 4:24:02 PM3 votes

The fact that partial voice chat increases toxicity does not prove that DQ increases toxicity, for 2 reasons.

  1. Some people use premades without voice chat.
  2. Even among premades in DQ who use voice chat, it could increase toxicity because of that, and still reduce it for other reasons, and the net result could be a decrease in toxicity. You don't have a strict equivalence between "partial voice chat" and "DQ".

Nice try, but try again.

Don't expect a Rioter to comment on this. They usually only comment on stupid meme threads. Nothing important like this

Mister Support7/1/2016, 6:39:38 PM2 votes

Oooooooor here's the real answer:

  1. The experiment you quoted was specifically between players who were randomly queued together, NOT when playing with friends (A.K.A what dynamic queue is). Meaning there is ZERO relevance between the two pieces of data you're comparing.

So please, actually think about where the data comes from before you try to make massive assumptions and lead others in the boards astray. And there are 2 major problems with your post overall:

  1. You make massive assumptions with no basis even from the statistics, such as Riot using Dynamic queue as a "cash grab" and that the game is dying. Both of those are false so please just shut the hell up.
  2. You claim the first set of statistics are false and made up, then use another set from Riot to make your claim, which doesn't even make sense.

Before "if you dont pick support I report you!" or "you are last pick so you support"

Now everyone plays whatever they want except the fillers. I think it did alot. At least thats with the new Champ Select
