Sure, skins and champions are fun, but what I really want is soloq back.

Sure, but you need keys to unlock it every single time you want to play it.

And keys only drop when you play with your friends.

I don't drop keys even with friends. Feels bad man.

Pls give us soloQ, I don't want it, but I can't handle this lvl of shitposting anymore!

heheh i dont mind dyna que much either. but I am solo player

soloQ would mean the death of dynamic Q.

Would be great, so they may have to give us ranked team again.

You'll have to play 200 games before you can get the 3 key fragments to open it, tho.

LoL Ergo Urgot4 votes

You just buy the keys tho.

CheftoniFTW2 votes

I like using my money on skins that I actually want, tho.

I thought that's what 6 years of spending on their game got me:

The right to have player wants guide the development of new content. Riot has sure changed THAT mindset in the last few years lol

They don't think solo queue players matter, fine: Obviously those players' money doesn't matter to them either.

Except literally every pro player that's been vocal about it thinks the Dynamic Queue is absolute trash and a terrible choice for the game.

But good try.

i've opened 3 - 4 chests for free by getting most of my fragments in solo blind what's with all of these people acting like keys are rarer than a unicorn

Of all the years of people posting about their terrible teamates. I never thought I would see this many people wanting to exclusively play with randoms.

RavenMagus3 votes

No, you can't.

It's not because it's not there, but it's because key fragments don't actually exist so you can't open your boxes anyways.

Great idea. Riot should say that when the community has unlocked a certain amount soloQ will return. Watch their servers getting overloaded with everyone logging in same time. :-)

Can we unlock DynaQ in hextech box?

you play solo get keys then you unlock DynaQ and then you'll be free to team up and ruin the game for others SoloQ-ers

its so fun to play against premade team, so so fun

We can have hextech boxes but graves cant have a soloQ... oh wait I've crossed streams

Don't give them ideas

They might actually add soloqueue "tickets" to loot boxes as a way to bring it back without killing DQ

Nekusen2 votes

you can, you just need to disenchant 3 Hextec Annie

cept you can't earn keys cuz you were reported by a trolly premade for not being willing to eat 50+ minutes of their shit talking quietly.

Inb4 you can only use naturally dropped key fragments to unlock the solo Q hextech box. And it only has a 10% chance of fusing into the necessary "solo Q key".

Actually that would be pretty friggin hilarious.

Well, f you want solo queue back, just... queue up alone.

"But I might be queueing up against teams!" Yeah. You're queueing up by yourself to see how well you are. Why not put it to the test of a coordinated team? If that is not why you want solo queue back, please enlighten me.

"it's not fair." PFFFFFF~! Think of ANY champion capable of dealing damage. Now making him/her/it fed. Here are some examples: Nasus Vayne Draven Ekko Fizz Shyvana Graves (To name a few) And you thought League of Legends was fair. xD Focus on providing suggestions towards balancing before continuing on about solo queue, please. We know you want it back. The community wanted a Taric rework, and they got it. Several years later, sure. But they got it.

So wait your turn.

I did. Got two toxic games being the 5th wheel non wanted leper that got no pings and got blamed on. I had toxic games in solo queue but I never had to deal with 4 man jabbing at me or completely ignoring me because they are in voice chat. When you are grouped you feel obligated to defend your friends. That's called mob mentality. Wanna balance it out? Make voice chat integrated in the game.

I don't get your line of though. Really. What is the thread between having to hope your 4/1 team is better than theirs 4/1 team and power spikes of champions?

So wait your turn.

Well, the big problem is that you had 5x5 teams while we had solo Q. Everyone could play with their friends for rank and climb to gold as a team and grab that free skin. 5x5 team had the flexibility of more members to swap. You could rank up and get EVERTHING soloq could offer. Dynamic queue now is a mangled x5 team with a with a stick "only queue". I want to play the game alone. Getting fresh teams every game. I want to impact the game and not be a 1% relevant because the 4 man comp don't know sh** about team play and will get mauled by the other comp.

Revert back the changes and everyone one will have what they want. You can rank with friends (5x teams) or you can go solo.

NoctusLynx1 votes

TL;DR: A team comprises everyone in it, and communication is essential. We are all growing stronger, and dynamic queue allows for all of us to grow stronger, simply not in the same way as it was before. Adapt, and it will be okay. Refuse to adapt, and you're going to continue to "feel like you're gonna have a bad time".

I mean, I understand how you feel- I have played several games as the support and no one would ping mia mid, etc, etc. I understand your plight there. I, however, did not have river warded, thus it was my fault we got ganked. It's unfortunate that your team is unlikely to communicate with those outside of communication applications such as TeamSpeak, Skype, Crse, etc. However, can't you then communicate with your team? Remind them that you're there, and that you're relevant. Talk to them, and they'll talk to you. Or at least they should; we all know there's that asshole that doesn't ping, type, ward, or provide and kind of map utility to the team. Those existed in solo queue, and they exist in dynamic queue. It's going to happen, and it's happening. Is it unfortunate? Of course. So then who's fault is it, if anyone's? Is it your team's (or the enemy's) for being in a group, or is it yours for not asking to join their Skype/Curse/TeamSpeak chat?

There was an incident in Florida where there was a massive crash on the I4 interstate. Many people were injured and many of those injured died because they did not receive treatment in time. Why did they not receive treatment in time? Because no one called 911. Why did no one call 911? Everyone thought "someone else will". Don't expect those in a Skype call to talk to you. Take initiative, and talk to them. When you're in match making, they might not be paying attention to you; make yourself be "heard" (via text).

League is about teamwork, and growing stronger to overcome your enemy, per match, and overall. Communicating with your team is essential, and we're all learning how to be better at the game. If this means trying your best against a coordinated team with a team that refused to talk to you after you've done everything you could to communicate with them, then consider it a challenge to grow stronger as a player.

Hmm. Well, solo queue did provide fresh teams every match, that is true. Which also provided people who didn't know how to play their roles, and thus a free win... for the enemy. I, personally, am glad that (though it still happens) this happens left often. If you feel like you are 1%, something is wrong with your team; you are still a part of the team. Give tips where possible, and do what you can to integrate yourself to into the team. If everyone, including you, myself, and everyone in every match ever, did not do eveything in our power to win the match, we did not care enough about winning. Of course, matches do get to the point where you have to hope for a mistake on the enemy's part in order to get a glimmer of hope of victory, but that's why we need to try to prevent it from getting to that point.

But at this point, I'm rambling on and on.

NoctusLynx1 votes

Also, wouldn't it be awkward only having a few people in solo queue? I feel like, for a while, (if solo queue were to be unlocked with the chests) not everyone is going to have access to the chests, and that's going to prompt paying for it, as someone has already mentioned. Justs saying, it's gonna be a pretty empty queue if it's unlocked in this manner.

You know why lol doesn't have a voice chat, even though it is the way meant to play the game?

@lyte 2014 - Before tencent bought the whole company and is trying to maintain a decaying cash cow: http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=4639545&page=1#post48085298 :

" At the end of the day, voice chat with friends is a great experience, and what League of Legends players actually want. Many players already use voice chat like Skype and Ventrilo with their friends and that’s awesome.

But, a system that automatically or easily puts you into voice chat with strangers leads to 126% more toxicity and 47% more reports even when players can opt-out of the experience or mute each other. Hopefully this gives players more insight into how we think about voice chat."

"Damn riot I'm in 4/1 and losing voice chat. "

  • Get friends! Or go into skype with 4 random ppl. But you can totally play with no skype. Gimped? Sure, we said play, not winning."

"Damn riot, 4/1 are more toxic in voice chat."

  • "Riot doesn't has a voice integrated chat. If you are using one you do at your own risk. You should get friends".

Dammed if do dammed if you don't with dynamic queue.

Hmm. Well, solo queue did provide fresh teams every match, that is true. Which also provided people who didn't know how to play their roles, and thus a free win... for the enemy.

You know that champion select (everyone choosing 2 roles) is independent of dynamic queue right?

NoctusLynx1 votes

TL;DR: Quotes taken directly from the link you posted. Rito would not be at fault if they made a public voice chat. Solo Queue had some issues that Dynamic Queue tries to fix. It's not a perfect system, but neither was Solo Queue. Still dont' understand the issue of Solo Queue vs Dynamic Queue.

These are taken directly from the link you posted above, just so you know.

"I'm really surprised by those results (where did they even come from?), I used Curse Voice while it was in beta and joined 5-10 different chats with random team mates. Not once in those 10 games did I get yelled at or flamed in any way. I actually felt like the people in the call wanted to chat about the game and theory. I felt like it was much different than being in an Xbox live chat for example. I got the feeling that if we were going to be talking to each other for 35+ minutes we didn't want to be fighting. Maybe I just got lucky. I also feel like hearing someone's voice makes you realize there is actually another person on the other side not just a nobody you can flame in the chat box." - lips

"I have transitioned into only playing league with people in a league clan because I don't find the game fun without talking anymore. that's some amazing results on toxicity but i'd rather talk with a toxic teammate on voice chat than talk to them in chat. I've played games with negative and mean people on skype or teamspeak (they are never mean to me personally) but I just delete them and never see them again. I also meet tons of new friends using voice chat.

I think people who don't want voice chat are just anti-social or don't want to win games. I really don't understand the reasoning behind wanting to play a team game without a team. Imagine how bad counterstrike or something would be without voice chat. I also don't meet that many young people on league, the most angry people are like 18ish. People complaining about 12 year olds most likely have not played league while communicating with other players.

Of course if you invented it you would need some type of honor system (but with a thumbs down option as well) I would love to go into a game with a ribbon saying i'm a good communicator." -Mister Oinker

" . " -Ouroboro DFGAREN

"It has It pros and cons.

It allows good communication to lead to victory, however, If you have a pitch voice, you might get laughed at for about 35 minutes.

I think It's a good Idea to impliment voice chat, but maybe having a way to record the conversation would help In case of toxicity." -Popples

"I would like it as long as you add a report option to ban people who are blaring music into the mic or making a ton of noise just to p*** people off." -True Lizard

(Is there a spoiler function where I can condense those quotes down to an optional button?)

Having the voice chat be public within the game itself does have its issues, but communication within the game is essential for playing to win (or maybe even for fun). It's not a problem with the system put in place, but the people who use it. By a similar token, guns don't kill people- people kill people. Guns are simply a tool or a medium in the violent exchange. Voice chat is simply a tool that can be used by trolls and ragers, but is the voice chat itself at fault? No. Would Rito be at fault for making a system that was used in such a way? No. McDonald's is not at fault for making unhealthy food if it's the people that continue to buy it. They, however, want to prevent the bad apples from driving away the good apples.

Then there's language barriers, but I feel that it would fall under a different thread, and wouldn't quite fit in in this thread/post, as that has to deal with someone choosing the wrong server, most likely.

In the regular champion select, the one before dynamic queue, you called for a role and hoped you got it. Typically, prior to season 4, the last one to call a role was stuck with support, unless they decided to do some off meta thing. At the time it was a typically undesirable role: no support gold income items, mainly. This meant that someone had to master the role they wanted, or support if they were too slow to call their role. Some chose fill, but let's be honest: 9 times out of 10, they ended up with support either way.

So yes, you are right, they would need to learn two roles: their role, and support. But then, if you were a support main? You typically only need to learn one role, then: rarely will someone contest you for your role. Support has become more popular as the years went by, so there are people who actually want to contest the support role. This means that support need to learn two roles now.

Of course, someone can learn 3, 4, 5 roles if the wanted to or if they cared enough to. True, this happens in champion select where you have about a minute and a half to coordinate where everyone will go, but you had to be prepared to have to go into any role if someone calls your role first. With some, this would sometimes lead to insta-locking. I've had several situations where two people insta-locked top lane, and one occasion where 3 people insta-locked top. It happened a few times with mid where two insta-locked mid, about three times with junglers, and only once with adc to my memory.

Teambuilder was a very nice concept, but it's major flaw was the queue times. I've had ocassion where I waited a game's average length (30 minutes or so) just to find a jungler/support if I wasn't support. It was a very nice idea, but those queue times needed fixing.

In Dynamic Queue, you instead select two roles and you're guaranteed one of those two. The game will try to give you the primary role, but will instead give you your secondary role if need be. Complaining, maybe, but there's more organization, and there's a general trust and understanding that the person knows how to play the role (not always do they know how to play the role, but that's with or without solo queue). Dodging still happens, but I have yet to see any arguments happen as a result of the role that matchmaking gave a player. To put that in perspective, I've seen people trade roles. To that regard, I wish that you can trade roles visually and not just in chat. That way it doesn't look like Darius is doing support and Janna is going top, but it's far from a perfect system.

If what you meant by "You know that champion select (everyone choosing 2 roles) is independent of dynamic queue right?" went over my head, please let me know what. I just tried making do with what I understood.

But I digress. The more and more I talk with those wanting solo queue back, the more I learn about the predicament. With everything I've learned, I still don't know what people want Solo Queue back with the system that's in place. If everyone really did want Solo Queue back, there wouldn't be 5-man teams in Dynamic queue- there would instead by a team of randoms vs a team of randoms because of the match making in the game (it's been fixed).

Edit: Fixing my TL;DR.

Still no success.

*update I saw a link in the youtube. You need 8 gems for to open it. I hope solo Q is in there somewhere. Some people say I'm crazy and it is hextech annie. I doubt it. Saw videos in youtube where players were expending 500U$... just to get a skin? Must be solo q. It has to be. I'll update this mission log until I find it.
