So yasuo thread here

Seriously, i don't think it matters what I say, if it's negative about the champion the thread gets downvoted to hell and back.

Though i noticed something fairly unique about the champion, which i think could be the root of a lot of the problems related to him. He's pretty much the only kit, which takes marksmen items (auto attack stats), and utilizes them in an AD caster kit. Which just seems to cause a lot of problems, when you've got item 3046 item 3031 item 3072 being used on a champion with 3 defensive mechanics, and the offensive power of a marksmen.

Yasuo is balanced that way. He is a squishy Melee Hyper Carry. If he didn't have his crit mechanic or his survivability he has in his kit, he would build item 3078 item 3022 item 3748 every game.

This. Don't know why it's so hard for people to understand this.

People really dislike how he can get away with heavy damage builds.

Honestly with his level of mobility, I'd prefer him to stay squishy.

That's why he's balanced.

If he didn't have his crit mechanic or his Ulti Armor pen attached to crit, he would build. item 3078item 3022item 3748item 3047item 3026item 3065 and destroy everyone while living through each fight.

Reguardless, it doesn't change the fact that he converts on-hit effects and auto attack stats into ability damage stats.

This is still something that's almost completely unique to him, the only other cases i can think of only convert crit. Gangplank Garen Tryndamere and even then it's often a secondary feature, not a pivotal mechanic.

I also wasn't saying that he's particularly OP, but rather, that he's nearly impossible to put into a state of healthy gameplay. It's like the exact opposite problem that they have with marksmen building a "AD caster stat" like lethality, except in this case it only expresses itself on a single champion.

Gangplanks Q actually applies all on hit effects. Unless you specifically meant his barrels, which also apply spellblade.

There's also Warwick, though that might be a stretch because I don't think his ult can crit (but it applies on hit).

And we understand (don't really agree) that his damage build path is why people say can't be put in a balanced state. Personally, I'd take it over his bruiser builds as he's a lot harder to punish when he's bruiser level tanky and his damage doesn't really suffer that much from it.

It's not that his damage build path is why he's impossible to balance.

Look at the bruiser build path which you gave. item 3078 spellblade item 3022 on hit item 3748 on hit

Then look at the damage build path. item 3046 on hit item 3031 "on hit" (Because of crit interaction) item 3072 on hit

Yet his kit still plays as an AD caster, despite benefiting from these items which are designed to be uniquely non-caster.

Ok I'm sorry but I'm lost. How is what he's doing with on hit different from everyone else and why is it a balance problem?

Edit:

Yet his kit still plays as an AD caster, despite benefiting from these items which are designed to be uniquely non-caster

Ohhh. That's what you mean.

The only ability he uses that actually gives an AD caster feel is his Q though, which is basically another auto attack.

Non caster AD items are still useful on AD casters to some extent. Some champions however require more cooldown reduction while Yasuo doesn't (in fact, his main ability is given CDR through attack speed) because he's basically autoing you while not autoing you.

I don't know how his tornado could even work if the ability had a longer cooldown or if it was based on his autos alone.

Yes, his only ability which makes him an AD caster is pretty much his Q, but it's also the part which benefit 1:1 with onhit.

Non-AD caster items are still sometimes useful on non-AD casters, but they are generally limited by the AD champion having weak benefit on their abilities, which yasuo doesn't suffer from.

They could always make his tornado based on a different ability such as his E or his flow.

So what would his Q be?

deadlychuck1 votes

Well, for starters. It would probably be best if they defined it as a spell, instead of it doubling as a 2nd auto attack and a spell.

Yes, some other abilities like GP Q and Ezreal Q, have rode the line for a long time, but all of his budget being stacked into his causes problems, and it really can't be distributed elsewhere in his kit.

You might also want to add some kind of recurrence limiting factor to his Q tornado. Possibly by attaching it to flow in some way, but that's more off topic.

Realistically, they just need to go back and rework the champion from the ground up. They designed him into a corner.

Wow, a champ with something unique in it! What has the world come to!

He is possible to put in a state of healthy gameplay. Ever wonder why changes are few and far between? He is generally been balanced during his entire existence EXCEPT for the Tanksuo Stint where they made him even more balanceable in the aftermath. His early game was a tiny bit strong so they changed his E a bit.

All in all, he may be unique, but that does NOT mean he is unbalanceable.

You also play a fuckton of champs that he counters. Vel'koz and TF are hard countered by Yasuo, BTW.

The reason your post is downvoted is because it's wrong on so many levels. You don't seem to play Yasuo at all as well. If you had experience with Yasuo, then you might be recognized, but having no experience is like a death sentance with us Yasuo mains. If you don't have experience with what you are talking about, play the champ a few times and then come back with a few games under your belt.
