Real talk, it's so cancer to come out of testing by killing all 3 tentacles only to be pulled out again and be tested again. Your team is literally down 1 member because he/she is busy trying to kill tentacles again and again. After passing the Test of Spirit champions should get an immunity timer like the one you get after being stunned by Udyr bear stance.

If you can't dodge it, then l2p. range and speed are both pretty mediocre. Not to mention it can be blocked by minions. GitGud
