Why Is Quick Cast Recommended?

Many times I have tried to play different champions using Quick Cast and yet for some reason it doesn't feel right. In clutch situations when I really need to ignite someone my ignite doesn't cast. When I try to teleport to a turret it feels like my teleport is delayed or won't cast, sometimes even causing me to cancel the teleport completely. Skill shots for champions like Orianna simply won't cast when I want them to when I know that without quick cast it would have cast just fine. I lose just about every game that I play quick cast with because it doesn't respond how I expect it to. Why is this system so recommended by the riot analysts and high tier players? Am I doing something wrong? I can't grasp why I play so poorly using quick cast when I can do fairly decently without it being enabled.

Quick Cast is inherently faster to use than regular casting. Any difficulties you're having with it are due to lack of experience, not an issue with the system itself.

Don't beat yourself up over it, though. If you keep using it you'll adjust and it will feel perfectly natural. Eventually you'll wonder how you ever managed to play without it.

It's because you aren't used to it. No different than if you were playing locked screen for a long time.

The main reason its recommended is less buttons, instead of having to click the ability aim and then click you can simply press the ability and it goes to where the cursor is. Another thing is unless you are ok with it you don't have to use all abilities on quickcast. I have a friend who plays veigar and makes the E not quickcast so he can aim better. It also takes time to get used to, I swapped to everything on quickcast a long time ago and the first week or so I was missing skill shots and misclicking.

I have started using quick cast recently and probably can help some of the issues with abilities not casting. It took me a bit of time/practice but now I use quick cast only.

Normal cast shows a range circle/indicator, so we cast when we know enemy is in range. Quick cast doesn't ( rarely) show range circle/indicator, so we think enemy is in range, while it is not true. A bit of practice/overtime you'll learn the true range limitations without indicators.

TP/Ignite/Exhaust, while using these summoner spells, mouse has to be exactly on the champ/minion. In most case... they are moving, just practice and get a better precision mouse. While using nomal case, same thing, indicator is visible and one waits for champ to be in range.

Quick cast is faster becuz of no range check, one click etc ( in same cases animation cancelling as well). It took me lots of matches to get used to it. Just keep practicing, don't get salty. You'll miss most, at first, but keep track of your mouse pointer, enemy MS, your MS ( that means how far can they mose before you can cast) . You can always range check my moving cursor on abilities.

PS: A good grip mouse pad is highly recommended. Sometimes I use trackball, just for fun.

Well maybe it's just me, but I can click on my turret to teleport faster without quick cast than I can with quick cast. While perhaps it's not true for many abilities (skill shots in particular), I find that it's a lot easier to not quick cast ignite and teleport for me.

One requires moving the mouse over the target, pressing the key, then releasing the key. It's literally impossible to do 1/3rd of the steps slower than you do 3/3rds of the steps.

That's just the thing, with quick cast I move the mouse over and press the button... my character doesn't teleport. Last game I even checked to ensure my mouse was over the turret and started smashing the teleport key and it still wouldn't work. I gave up and just removed all the quick cast from the settings because it was irking me way too much. lol
